Attractions for the school festival! Turn your school and classrooms into a theme park with interactive exhibits

Why not create theme-park-level fun together with your whole class? For your school festival attraction, you can actually build a full-fledged, hands-on experience right in your classroom.

From handmade whack-a-mole games and a carousel built with wood and pipes, to a VR-powered roller coaster…

You’ll feel the satisfaction of creating something with your classmates and the joy of seeing visitors’ smiles.

In this article, we’ll share everything from how to craft a Disney-like dream space to practical tips for building the attractions themselves.

Simple Game Experience Attractions (11–20)

Russian roulette

A roulette chocolate so insanely spicy it surpasses Death Sauce—it's a total monster!
Russian roulette

The classic Russian roulette with food that everyone has probably tried at least once! It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Cream puffs are the standard, but pizza, takoyaki, pancakes, or even sushi—if you want to go a bit fancy for a school festival—could work too.

The usual twist is making one super spicy with wasabi or mustard, but trying an ultra-sweet version with whipped cream or condensed milk could be fun as well! This thrill-packed idea is definitely worth doing.

Just make sure not to waste food!

Goldfish scooping

Goldfish scooping is a huge hit at festival stalls.

Caught up in the atmosphere, plenty of people end up scooping a goldfish and then hurriedly buying an aquarium afterward.

These days, the activity is popular enough to have large competitions.

It’s also a favorite attraction for school and cultural festivals.

Hosting a regular goldfish scooping booth will likely draw a crowd, but mixing in a few larger fish to create a “There’s no way I can scoop that!” situation is a classic way to amp up the excitement.

Let’s also prepare oxygen to help the goldfish live longer and make it a kinder, animal-friendly attraction!

Darts, which can be enjoyed by both children and adults, is perfect for a school festival! Since all you need is a small space, a target, and a few darts, it doesn’t take much time to prepare.

You can compete by individual scores, or if you have enough participants, a tournament format would make it even more exciting.

If you’re worried about differences in skill, it’s a good idea to divide fields by age.

If the darts feel unsafe, you can make darts with magnets and use a whiteboard as the target.

A giant Jenga you can enjoy with your whole body is perfect for interactive events that everyone—from small children to adults—can join.

In the video, they stack long, narrow cardboard pieces to play the game.

However, you might not always find cardboard in just the right size.

In that case, try getting creative with the materials! Ideally, choose something that won’t hurt if it collapses and hits someone.

It could also be fun to prepare a simple penalty game for the loser to liven things up!

Board game cafeNEW!

Board game cafeNEW!

Board game cafes that combine popular board games with a cafe have been popping up more often around town, haven’t they? This time, let’s let visitors relax while experiencing board games at the school festival! If you set up about four booths in a classroom and prepare a different board game for each, it should make it easier for visitors to choose.

It’s also great to have students join in as opponents.

For the cafe menu, having simple, easy-to-serve items with drinks as the main focus is likely to be appreciated!

professional sumo (Grand Sumo)

Sumo Champion vs. JOY: I Tried Entering a Sumo Tournament!
professional sumo (Grand Sumo)

Long ago, there was a time when sumo was part of religious ceremonies.

There were dedicatory sumo matches held to pray for a good harvest or to give thanks for one.

Over time, that tradition evolved into the modern sport of sumo we know today.

So, how about boldly hosting a sumo tournament? Just putting on a mawashi might be enough to get everyone excited.

If that feels embarrassing, you can wear a mawashi over your PE tracksuit.

If you borrow the sandpit from an athletics field to hold the event, you’ll feel like a grand yokozuna.

It would also be fun to make it a hands-on attraction with things like one-legged sumo or arm wrestling—sure to be a hit.

And we’d definitely want the referee to come in costume!

In conclusion

As a cultural festival attraction, we introduced ideas for transforming a classroom into an extraordinary space. Handmade, hands-on exhibits bring a sense of accomplishment that blows away all the hard work of preparation. If you base your plan on a theme park attraction, your visitors’ smiles are sure to shine even brighter. Join forces as an entire class to create an unforgettable moment of youth!
