[Origami] Snowman

This origami snowman is perfect for December, when it’s also the season of snow.
A snowman is made by placing one snowball on top of another, right? With a clever folding method, you can express the two stacked snowballs using just a single sheet of origami paper.
You can also make a scarf around the snowman’s neck.
If you use polka-dot or patterned paper, the pattern becomes the scarf, making it extra cute.
You can draw the eyes and mouth yourself, so each snowman has its own personality.
You can stick them on a wreath or a calendar, so try arranging them in different ways to expand the range of your creations.
A Christmas garland with just four folds

A Christmas garland to brighten up your walls, with each piece incredibly simple to make—just four folds.
First, fold the origami paper in half into a triangle and open it.
Then fold one side toward the crease, fold the other side toward the center crease, and fold in the remaining flap to finish.
Thread a string through the last folded section and secure the end with cellophane tape so it won’t slip off.
Using Christmas-patterned origami paper makes it extra cute.
It’s also fun to decorate by drawing on the paper or adding stickers.
A Christmas bell folded from a single sheet of origami paper

Some children aren’t very confident with origami, right? In that case, try starting with a Christmas bell.
Among origami projects, the Christmas bell is simple to make, so even kids who struggle with origami can enjoy making it! If they have fun and feel a sense of achievement and satisfaction, it’ll likely lead to the next step.
Making two and arranging them like ornaments would be lovely, too.
Once they get used to it, they can also fold a ribbon and combine it with the bell for more fun.
Wearable Santa hat
This is an origami Santa hat that’s fun to combine with all kinds of motifs.
You can easily make it with a single sheet of origami paper, so why not try it with your child? Making this is sure to boost your Christmas mood! There are no tricky steps that require fine folding.
With a very simple method, you’ll have a cute Santa hat in no time! Using large round stickers to represent the pom-pom adds a nice accent to the hat.
It would be lovely to attach it to a Christmas card, or combine this Santa hat with snowman or animal origami for a lively Christmas decoration.
A torn-paper collage wreath and an origami Santa
As children grow into the preschool years, they can start thinking for themselves about how to arrange colors and patterns, even with simple tearing-and-pasting activities.
Why not make a wreath that puts that thinking power to use? For preparation, lightly mark a wreath shape on white construction paper with a pencil.
Let the children freely tear origami paper and paste the pieces with glue, using the penciled outline as a guide.
To create a lively wreath, it’s best to provide patterned origami paper.
Finally, glue a ribbon on top of the wreath and add a Santa made from origami to finish it off.

♬ All I Want for Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey
The season the kids have been waiting for—Christmas—is just around the corner! Here, I’ll show you how to make a cute Christmas tree that’s super easy to create just by sticking things on.
All you need is cardboard, scissors, and masking tape.
To make it, first cut the cardboard into the shape of a Christmas tree with the scissors, then start sticking on the masking tape.
Make lots of pieces and stick them on to give it a real Christmas tree look.
After that, decorate it however you like and you’re done! Try making and decorating it together with the kids while having fun.
Snowflake Tree
How about a snowflake tree as a wall decoration that’s perfect for December’s main event, Christmas? By adding snowflakes with various patterns to the tree, you can create a dazzling Christmas tree! The steps are simple: cut blue-toned construction paper or poster board into a triangle to make the base of the tree.
Next, use origami paper to create snowflake ornaments with paper-cutting.
Once they’re ready, keep sticking them onto the tree.
Finally, attach a ribbon or a snowflake to the top of the tree to make it even more gorgeous!
