illumination lights

I’ll show you how to make an illumination light using just one sheet of origami paper! You’ll use a strip cut from the paper after folding it into thirds.

First, flip the paper over, position it vertically, and fold it into thirds.

Fold the section below the crease in half horizontally to make a guideline, then fold the bottom up to align with the top edge four times.

Make the fourth fold firm.

Turn it over and fold the unfolded section to align with the edge.

Turn it over again, fold the top and bottom of the folded side to the center, tuck in the center corners, then fold the bottom up to the center.

Slightly fold back the top part you just folded and tuck it in.

Lightly fold both top corners, make a reverse (inside) fold along the bottom edge, and tuck in any protruding parts.

That completes one light.

Make several lights, then finish by threading them with jute twine, wrapping the twine around each light twice as you go.

Perfect for Christmas! Santa’s hat

Why not make a cozy hat out of origami for the kind Santa who brings presents? You can make it simply with just one sheet of origami paper! First, prepare one sheet in your favorite color, fold it in half both ways to make a cross-shaped crease, then unfold it.

Fold the top two corners inward toward the center, flip it over, and fold up the bottom by about 1 centimeter.

Once that’s done, flip it over again, fold one side inward, and fold the other side the same way.

Flip it once more, tuck the excess at the bottom inside, then slightly fold the tip of the hat downward at a diagonal—and you’re done.

Santa is sure to be delighted!

You can fold it with origami! Cute gingerbread man

Let’s make a gingerbread man out of paper—like a cookie! Prepare one sheet of origami paper, fold it into a triangle twice, then open it to create a cross-shaped crease.

Next, fold the bottom left and right sides up along the center line and open them to set the creases.

Fold the bottom up toward the center line, flip the paper top-to-bottom, and repeat the same steps so the top and bottom are symmetrical.

Then turn it over, fold the bottom up toward the center line, and turn it over again.

Open and fold the bottom to the left and right, then fold the top down toward the center.

Tuck the left and right corners slightly inward, fold the bottom up toward the center to set the crease, and flip it over.

Make a cut at the bottom with scissors, shape it into a little person, and you’re done! Have fun decorating it however you like!

Recommended as decoration too! How to fold holly

Here’s a recommended way to fold holly for Christmas decorations.

You’ll need one 15 cm × 15 cm sheet of origami paper for the leaf, three 2 cm × 2 cm sheets for the berries, and glue.

First, turn the origami paper over, fold it into a triangle twice to make creases, then unfold.

Fold the top and bottom corners to meet the center crease.

Next, fold the top and bottom edges in to the center.

Then, fold the upper left and upper right edges diagonally so they slightly cross over the center line.

That completes the leaf.

For the berries, simply fold in the four corners of each of the three small squares a little bit.

Finally, apply glue firmly to the opening part of the leaf, and glue the berries onto the leaf to finish!

A Santa Claus you can fold with a single sheet of origami! Easy and quick

Here’s how to fold a simple Santa using a single sheet of origami paper.

First, prepare origami paper in your favorite color, fold it in half into a triangle, open it, and make a crease.

Fold both sides toward the crease you made, then align the bottom corner with the top corner.

Flip it over, lift the top layer and fold it all the way down, then flip it over again.

Fold the left and right sides along the triangle, turn it over, and you’re done.

Tilting the hat with a diagonal fold makes it extra cute! If you want the beard to look three-dimensional, first fold the beard upward to create a crease, then fold it back down—the step will give it a 3D effect.
