Santa boots

Why do we put out socks or boots at Christmas to receive presents? There are various theories, but it seems to originate from an anecdote in which gold coins tossed by a saint to help the poor happened to land in a stocking.

It’s lovely to decorate your tree with Santa boots, a classic Christmas motif.

Try making your own Santa boots out of felt.

It seems you can even fold Santa boots with origami, so if you’re interested, be sure to check video sites!

shortcake

How to fold an adorable shortcake ♡ So easy even kids can do it!
shortcake

How about getting into the Christmas spirit with a shortcake that’s loved by everyone from children to adults? First, fold a sheet of origami paper into a triangle twice, then unfold it.

Fold one corner up to the one-quarter mark.

Flip it over and fold the left and right sides to meet the center crease.

Next, flip it over again and fold back the excess part.

Fold back again, leaving a small white edge showing, and fold the left and right sides in.

Imagine the white part as cream, draw a wavy line there, cut along the line with scissors, and attach a piece of red origami cut into a strawberry shape—that’s it! It’s nice that this simple folding method makes it easy for small children and older adults to try.

Stick Santa Reindeer

Stick Santa Reindeer

These adorable origami sticks feature a Santa Claus and reindeer duo.

For the Santa, start by folding the paper into a triangle twice and then unfold.

Next, fold the left and right sides inward, a little deeper than the center line.

Flip it over, fold the bottom edge back up, and form the face.

The reindeer also has a slightly detailed step at the end for adjusting the antlers, but there are no particularly complicated steps, so it’s easy to make.

To finish, color Santa’s belt with a black pen, and use round stickers for the eyes and nose.

Roll a sheet of origami into a tube to make the stick, attach the figures to it, and you’re done.

It’s an activity that can be enjoyed by everyone from small children to seniors.

Gift with a ribbon

Gift with a ribbon

Here’s a cute ribboned gift box fold that will put you in the Christmas spirit.

You’ll need 15 cm square origami paper for the box, 7.5 cm square origami paper for the ribbon, glue, scissors, and so on.

First, fold the paper into a triangle twice and unfold.

Then, leaving a small gap from the center, fold all four sides toward the middle.

Flip it over and fold each corner toward the center; glue the folded sections so they don’t open, and the box is complete.

Carefully fold the ribbon as well and secure it with glue.

Using Christmas-themed or double-sided origami paper makes it even more fun!

Tree made from origami

When Christmas comes, sparkling Christmas trees are displayed all over town, aren’t they? For this craft, cut origami paper, make loops with glue, gently flatten them, and stick them down in the shape of a tree.

If you add guide marks on the construction paper where you’ll stick the pieces, it becomes even easier to place the “leaves” evenly.

Kids love activities that use glue, too.

Some children may still find handling glue difficult, but try proceeding slowly while keeping a close eye on them.

Let’s make and display a lovely finished tree and enjoy Christmas!
