Tree made from branches

[Craft] Let's make a hanging Christmas tree with tree branches [Interior]
Tree made from branches

The Christmas season is just around the corner.

Here’s how to make an easy wall-hanging Christmas tree using arranged branches! You’ll need branches, string, your favorite ornaments, wood paint, and paper.

First, cut the branches to match the size of the tree you want.

The longest one will be at the bottom, so cut them progressively shorter toward the top.

Lay down paper, paint the branches with wood paint, and let them dry thoroughly.

Next, attach the ornaments to the branches.

After adding the ornaments, tie string to the ends of each branch.

Finish by adding a star or ribbon at the top, and you’re done! You can also enjoy making handmade ornaments, so adjust the activities to your children’s ages and have fun with it.

Balloons are popular with children, aren’t they? Here’s an idea for making a balloon tree using them.

It’s very simple to make: use inflated balloons and strings, and tape them to the wall in the shape of a tree.

If you add decorations made from pipe cleaners or origami to the finished tree, it will look even more festive.

Using red and green balloons will make it feel even more like Christmas.

It also seems like something you could enjoy making while playing with balloons together with the kids.

Accordion-fold wall-mounted tree

Here’s a simple Christmas wall craft: an easy origami Christmas tree.

Materials: origami paper, wood glue, scissors, construction paper, double-sided tape, and clothespins.

Instructions: First, accordion-fold the green origami paper.

Apply a thin line of glue along the top, clip it with a clothespin, and let it dry.

For the trunk, cut an origami sheet into four equal parts and use one piece.

Accordion-fold the trunk as well.

Attach the trunk to the center bottom of the dried green piece.

Clip the trunk and let it dry.

Once everything is thoroughly dry, cut the origami into any shapes you like to decorate.

Finally, stick double-sided tape on the back of the tree and adhere it to the construction paper to finish!

Stained-glass-style tree made with aluminum foil

Even stained glass that seems challenging can be a fun project for kids if you use aluminum foil! This time, we’ll show you a beautiful, shiny, stained-glass-style tree.

First, crumple the aluminum foil to create wrinkles.

Then open it up, place it inside a clear file, and cut it into a triangle.

Put masking tape around the edges of the file, decorate it with your favorite stickers, and you’re done! It also looks lovely if you draw stained-glass-style outlines with a black permanent marker and color it in.

Enjoy tailoring the activity to the children’s ages and interests.

Advent calendar tree

Many of you may be thinking, “I want to make an Advent calendar for Christmas!” An Advent calendar is a calendar that counts down the days until Christmas, with a fun twist of buying one treat or small item each day.

How about making an Advent calendar tree that combines this with a Christmas tree? For example, you could stick a tree decal on the wall and hang small stockings with the dates written on them from it.

Enjoying how paint colors blend together stimulates children’s senses, doesn’t it? For this activity, you’ll drip paint onto a tree-shaped piece of construction paper and place it inside a food storage bag to create the artwork.

Even very young children can enjoy it without getting their hands dirty, making it perfect for a wall display.

Once the paint dries, decorating with round stickers or glitter tape gives it an even more festive Christmas feel—highly recommended.

It’s a wall display activity suitable from age 0, so have fun exploring color mixing while making a lovely Christmas tree.

A lively big Christmas tree made by hanging lots of mini strap-style trees.

Draw a grid on a large triangular backing so that each mini tree takes up two squares.

Don’t forget to leave margins on both sides.

For the parts where you hang the tree straps, make slits with a craft knife, insert clips, and secure them with cellophane tape.

It’s also nice that you can extend the backing as needed by adding more pieces with tape.

Attach a large star to the top, and you’ll have a powerful big tree made from many small trees combined!
