[Earthquake Disaster Recovery Support Song] Let’s Do Our Best, Japan! A Circle of Recovery Support Connected Through Music (61–70)
Our TomorrowElefanto Kashimashi

When I listened to this song, I wiped away my tears, put my sadness away in a box, and felt fired up to believe in tomorrow and keep moving forward, thinking, “Yes! I just have to do my best!” And because these lyrics reached everyone’s hearts, he said he was able to gain confidence in his own music.
It’s a song where I felt comfort not through words of consolation or sorrow, but through straightforward and simple words.
Miracle PianoKinjō Ayano

The “Miracle Piano” in the title refers to a real piano in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture.
It was damaged by the tsunami and was in terrible condition, but it was restored through painstaking repairs.
That’s why it’s called the Miracle Piano.
This song was born from Ms.
Kinjō’s encounter with that piano.
It is a piece dedicated to the lives lost in the disaster—one that will move you to tears.
Please listen to the gentle, warm singing voice.
It is included on the album Beloved Days, released in 2022.
Promise of SmilesKoshio Sakura

A heartwarming message song by Sakura Koshio filled with love for her hometown Fukushima and a wish for recovery.
Released in April 2016—five years after the Great East Japan Earthquake—the track is included on the mini-album “Our Things” and was produced with full support from the city of Aizuwakamatsu.
The music video, featuring local residents participating as volunteers, also drew attention.
The powerful vocals of the chorus group VOXRAY, whom she met at the recovery event Fukukonsai, leave a strong impression.
It’s a song that supports those who, even from afar, hold their hometown in their hearts and continue to keep hope for the future.
AhSuperfly

This song, “Aa,” was released in June 2011 as Superfly’s 13th single.
The album “Mind Travel,” which came out before this single, includes an instrumental version under the title “Ah.” Even among those affected by the earthquake, everyone thinks differently, and some feelings may be kept locked up inside.
There’s no single right answer for emotions or thoughts—and that uncertainty can breed anxiety—but this song has the power to make you feel that “it’s okay” to have that haze of confusion.
Song of LifeTakeuchi Mariya

“Inochi no Uta” (Song of Life) is a piece that expresses the joy and gratitude of being born on this planet.
Originally released by the musical duo ManaKana as an insert song for the NHK morning drama series Dandan, it was later covered by Mariya Takeuchi herself.
Carried by a gentle melody that softly cradles feelings of anxiety and loneliness, her warm voice resonates throughout.
After the earthquake, even when it was hard to accept the reality before us, the presence of loved ones could give us courage.
Precisely because the situation was difficult, this is a recovery-encouragement song portraying people supporting one another.
