You have a chance to see a shooting star in Pirates of the Caribbean right at the beginning of the attraction, when the night sky appears. It’s the area on the right side where the Blue Bayou Restaurant is, so the food might catch your attention—but be sure to keep an eye on the night sky!

Inside Toontown, there’s one manhole that talks. It’s located near the shop “Gag Factory/Five & Dime,” and when you step on the manhole, you can hear various voices.

The face-like design in the center of the It’s a Small World facade is actually a mechanical clock. Every 15 minutes, bells chime and 24 dolls appear. The number of dolls was chosen at Walt Disney’s request to represent the 24 hours in a day.

Mississippi River

In 1983, just before the opening of Disneyland, water from the Mississippi River—an emblem of America—was actually brought over and poured into the Rivers of America during the launch ceremony for the Mark Twain Riverboat. Knowing the background, the scenery looks a little different, doesn’t it?

There’s a backstory that it used to be “Sugarman Bank,” and you can see traces of that in the interior and decor. The checkout counter evokes a bank teller window, and the wall features a night-deposit box for accepting deposits outside of banking hours. It’s an old-fashioned system that was in use before ATMs became widespread. It’s fun to let your mind wander to that history while choosing some sweet treats.

While many of Cinderella Castle’s roofs are decorated in blue, the tip of the tallest spire is gold. Gold was the favorite color of Walt Disney, the founder of Disney. It was adorned in gold with the hope that even from heaven, Walt Disney would be able to find Tokyo Disneyland.

It has real diamonds embedded in it.

There’s a beautiful mosaic mural in the passageway that runs beneath Cinderella Castle. One of the women depicted in it is wearing earrings that actually use real diamonds! There’s even a rumor that touching those earrings will bring you good luck.
