Dreaming NightJO1

A romantic dance tune that sings about the happiness of spending a night with someone special.

It’s a song by JO1, the popular idol group born from an audition program, included on their single “STRANGER,” released in August 2021.

The members’ sweet vocals shine against the smooth, atmospheric electronic sound.

Listen to it alone at night, and you might find yourself swooning.

I’d love to have a partner who feels this way, too.

Perfect for when you want to heighten the mood of romance.

Doki Doki, sung by JUDY AND MARY, the hugely popular rock band symbolic of the 1990s, is the group’s eighth single, released in 1995.

It was used as the theme song for NHK General TV’s Pop Jam and for information programs on local stations, and it reached No.

8 on the Oricon singles chart.

It’s a charming track that showcases vocalist YUKI’s appeal, with a relaxed tempo that feels great.

It’s the perfect song to listen to while taking a walk on a clear autumn day!

Among jazz bands, JiLL-Decoy association stands out for their exceptional taste.

Known as “Jill-Deco,” they’ve been attracting attention from hardcore music aficionados.

Of all their songs, the one I especially recommend is Before You Put On the Dress.

It’s a highly intricate jazz number, and right before the instrumental break a mixed voice comes in.

The arrangement moves from mixed voice into falsetto, making it a great pick for anyone looking to strengthen the connection between their chest and head voice.

Jonas Blue, a popular DJ from the UK who has released many hits in the tropical house genre, dropped a collaboration track with the American boy band Why Don’t We titled “Don’t Wake Me Up” in January 2022.

True to Jonas’s style, it’s a chic, pop-infused dance track with a glamorous yet slightly bittersweet melody.

The bouncing piano riff and the sweet vocals of Why Don’t We deliver an irresistibly catchy performance.

If they told you, “I finally found you,” many listeners would surely feel their hearts skip a beat.

That said, the overall lyrics can also be read as lingering feelings for someone after a breakup, which makes the phrase “don’t wake me up” in the title all the more poignant.

If you’re interested, try reading a Japanese translation of the lyrics and then give the song another listen.

DOKOKEN-U

A song set against the backdrop of the city at night, capturing moments of encounters and farewells.

With the heat of club music and the clamor of the metropolis as its background, it vividly portrays the passion and loneliness of youth.

Its rhythmic sound, infused with reggae and dancehall elements, will make listeners want to dance.

Included on the compilation album “ESCAPE,” released in November 2003, it generated major buzz in the club scene.

It was later re-released in 2005 as an indie album of the same name and became a huge hit, selling around 200,000 copies.

Perfect for nighttime drives or fun times with friends.

With KEN-U’s distinctive vocals, it’s sure to become a wonderful track that colors a page of your youth.

Killer Smells started out as Hideatsu Hishida’s solo unit, but later jazz musician Naruyoshi Kikuchi also joined.

“Drive Me Nasty” is a cool track with a hard-edged approach that feels like a fusion of garage sound and free jazz.

Hideatsu Hishida was originally a student at Naruyoshi Kikuchi’s music school, making the two a teacher–student pair.

KIRA is a female R&B singer from Osaka Prefecture.

Because she frequently collaborates with reggae deejays and singjays, she’s often mistaken for a reggae singer, but she has stayed true to R&B since the beginning of her career and is highly regarded in both the R&B and reggae scenes.

One of her signature songs, Don’t text me, was released in the summer of 2020 and features a tropical sound that evokes the season.

You can sense a reggae flavor in the way the track is put together.
