Hit and popular songs by E-girls

Let me introduce some songs by E-girls, a group active as the “little sisters” of EXILE.

E-girls is a female entertainment collective composed of the teams Dream, Happiness, and Flower.

As mentioned at the outset, because they’re considered EXILE’s sister group, they aim for true entertainment through singing and dancing, and reportedly do not operate as idols.

Reflecting that philosophy, E-girls has sub-groups, Rabbits and Bunnies, and beneath them is a dance school called EXPG.

From this dance school, members can join Rabbits or Bunnies, and if they build up their skills, they can be promoted to E-girls; promotions and demotions are said to occur regularly.

Behind their high-quality entertainment lies this rigorous, merit-based system of working one’s way up.

It also gives off a bit of a Perfume vibe.

The funky style and the poppy backing track blend together beautifully.

It even has a touch of E-girls’ coquettish charm.

It might be fun to try singing it at karaoke to tease a mischievous guy.

Just A LittleE-girls

It’s a lively, poppy track characteristic of E-girls, included on the 2018 release E,G.11.

The song carries strength and coolness, yet still feels distinctly feminine, and it has a radiant presence that keeps it engaging to the very end—hard to believe it’s just an album track.

Saturday Night ~Cast a Spell on a Rockin’ Night~E-girls

This song, which starts with clapping and chants, is a cover of that famous Western hit.

Their English is really good too.

It’s a song that’s often used in cheerleading.

Kids these days might mistake this version for the original—it’s that well done.

I want to practice a lot and sing it.

Tomorrow will be a good dayE-girls

A catchy number whose blend of brass sounds and chorus evokes a touch of nostalgia.

The rap-like section in the first verse’s bridge hints at a K-pop flavor.

It’s a modernly arranged track with a universally appealing, catchy sound.

What I Want IsE-girls

This is a pop song whose driving guitars and choruses and shouts give it a Western-music vibe.

There’s no sense of overemphasized EDM-style dance-music elements; instead, it feels like contemporary, classic pop that you might hear on the radio.

After all, I’m an idolE-girls

This is a cover of Kyoko Koizumi’s 1985 single “Nantettatte Idol.” It was performed in 2013 on the TV program “Bokura no Ongaku.” The back track, arranged in a ’50s oldies style, and the colorful costumes suit the pop song perfectly.

I really love the intro.

It’s a song about unrequited love, isn’t it? That phase is the most fun, but there’s also the frustration of not being able to express your feelings, and it can be painful too.

I felt this song speaks for those complicated emotions very well.
