Doll-style towel hanger

Here’s a project that turns a hand towel into a cute little doll.
If the hand towel you use at home looks like a doll, it could lift the spirits of older adults too.
Make the doll’s face using a spherical piece of Styrofoam, and attach craft eyes and yarn for the hair.
Once you’ve attached the facial parts to a wooden clothespin, add ribbons and beads.
Clip a towel folded into a triangle onto the wooden pin, and your doll-style towel hanger is complete.
It’s great to make for yourself, and it would also make a delightful gift for families of older adults.
craft basket

Craft band works with a warm, inviting style.
A craft band is a type of handicraft tape made by recycling milk cartons and waste paper.
This time, we’re introducing a bag woven from craft bands.
Prepare several craft bands of different widths and start weaving.
Softer, thinner, and wider craft bands are easier for older adults to handle, making the project more approachable.
As the weaving progresses and the shape begins to form, it’s likely to spark excitement for older adults as well.
By changing the weaving method or the colors of the craft bands, you can create pieces with a variety of styles.
Enjoy making wonderful creations together with older adults.
Tulip bouquet

Here’s an idea for making a bright and cozy tulip bouquet out of felt without using any needles.
Use a 1-yen coin to draw circles for petals on paper, then cut the felt using the paper circles as templates.
Wrap a rectangular piece of felt, attach the slitted petals, and glue them down while gently folding the petals.
Glue the parts onto a foam ball to shape the flower.
Finally, add leaves and a string and tie them together to complete a cute bouquet.
You can enjoy the soft texture and color combinations of felt while working your hands, which also helps stimulate the brain.
It’s a heartwarming craft that brightens up any room just by being displayed.
flower box

A flower box that’s perfect as a gift for someone special.
Choose the flowers your loved one likes and pack them into the box.
For this project, we’ll use items you can get entirely at a 100-yen shop, such as the box and flowers.
It’s also recommended to add your own touches by decorating the box with washi tape, which will give it a more polished look.
The process is simply filling the box with flowers, so even older adults can do it smoothly.
The real test of skill is arranging them in a way that looks beautiful.
Flower basket made from scrap materials

A flower basket that uses paper quilling—perfect for spring crafting! It’s very economical because the base of the basket is made from a plastic bottle cap.
It also makes a great small gift! The basic method is to take narrow strips of paper and roll them tightly using a nail stick or bamboo skewer to shape them.
Creating several types—like ovals, teardrops, and fringed rolls—will make it look more vibrant! After stuffing the bottle cap with tissue, freely decorate it with flower parts to finish.
Make lots to brighten up your room or entryway.
Macaron keychain made with 100-yen shop materials

Here’s how to make a cute, round macaron keychain.
Prepare cover buttons, a tassel, fabric, Edo braided cord, jump rings, keychain hardware, and adhesive.
Place the fabric into the cap, set the button, and press it in with the setter to make a cover button.
After making two, bend the loop on the back of the buttons, apply adhesive, and stick the two buttons together.
Attach the Edo braided cord to the clasp of the joined buttons, threading it through the button’s jump ring partway and wrapping it around as you go.
Thread the tassel onto a jump ring, then likewise thread it onto the Edo braided cord and continue wrapping.
Secure everything firmly with adhesive, check the overall balance, and you’re done.

Stained-glass-style bookmark

A bookmark is an essential item when reading a book, isn’t it? This time, let’s make a stylish stained-glass-style bookmark.
Draw your favorite items on construction paper and cut those parts out.
Then just attach flower paper over the openings.
It’s an easy craft, so feel free to make lots of different bookmarks.
Since it involves cutting and pasting, it’s also great for fine-motor rehabilitation.
Creating a lovely bookmark can make reading even more enjoyable.
Be sure to have fun making them together!
