Famous Sight Sweets
One of Asakusa’s specialties, ningyoyaki (little cast cakes), was apparently sold under a different name originally. The answer is “Meisho-yaki” (landmark cakes). It began in the Taisho era, when an artisan who had trained in Ningyocho started selling them in Asakusa as “Meisho-yaki.”
