Greeting game

Greeting game

Let’s use greetings that match the time of day! Here’s a greeting game.

It’s a fun idea that lets you learn greetings suited to different times and cultures in a game-like way.

Students walk around to music, and when the music stops, they use a greeting appropriate to the time of day shown by the teacher’s illustration, helping develop their judgment.

By also incorporating greetings from other cultures—such as the United States and France—students can learn greetings from around the world and expand their vocabulary.

Drawing Telephone Game

SixTONES – Drawing Telephone Game: Who’s the Master Artist!?
Drawing Telephone Game

A game of telephone is where you pass along a prompt in various ways—saying it out loud in order, tracing letters on someone’s back, mouthing the words, and so on.

This version, “Drawing Telephone,” passes the message through drawings.

You draw the prompt you were given, pass it to the next person to guess what the drawing is, and if the final answer matches the original prompt, you’re good! Start with simple, single-item prompts like “dog” or “apple,” then gradually try prompts that include different actions.

How reliably the message gets through depends on everyone’s drawing skills.

Deciding where to place the best artist in the order is a key strategic choice.

It’s a game guaranteed to cause fits of laughter when the drawings just don’t quite get the point across.

Perfect for small-group icebreakers! Here’s a fun PET bottle balance game.

On party or recreation days, kids tend to be extra excited, right? This is a great activity to use at those times: a PET bottle balance game.

What you’ll need: a large plastic bottle, a box cutter, vinyl tape, and about 20 bottle caps.

Cut off the top portion of the large bottle, then wrap the cut edge with vinyl tape—and you’re ready to go! Players take turns dropping a bottle cap into the bottle; the person who knocks the bottle over loses.

It’s a simple game that also lets you see the different personalities of the kids, making it all the more interesting.

Russian roulette

[Banquet/Party Game] Russian Roulette with Pizza: 1-in-6 Spicy Version!!
Russian roulette

It’s a ‘Russian roulette’ using food.

Besides pizza, there are also options like takoyaki and cream puffs.

You can add various things such as wasabi, habanero, and chili peppers.

Since losing automatically becomes a penalty game, you don’t need to come up with a separate punishment!

Finger Catch

Catch @ Yamato Company
Finger Catch

Finger Catch: With one hand you try to catch your neighbor’s finger, and with the other hand you try to escape from being caught.

It’s fun with two people, and it works well even with larger groups.

First, curl one hand into a circle to make a “tube.” With your other hand, point your index finger and place it inside the tube made by the person next to you.

When the leader says “Catch,” the hand making the tube tries to grab the neighbor’s finger, while the hand with the raised index finger tries to pull out of the other person’s tube.

Since you’re doing different actions with both hands at the same time, it looks simple but is surprisingly tricky!

30-Second Drawing Contest

When we held a 30-second drawing contest, an unbelievable master artist was born!?
30-Second Drawing Contest

We’ll draw a picture of the given prompt in 30 seconds.

Thirty seconds is surprisingly short, so you’re sure to get some funny drawings.

It’s fun to just watch even if you don’t participate.

Even if you’re not good at drawing, there’s no need to feel self-conscious—it’s also fun to joke around and tease each other about the results.

What comes to mind when you think of ◯◯?

Speaking of 〇〇, it’s got to be games: [Party games recommended for after-parties and year-end gatherings]
What comes to mind when you think of ◯◯?

A game where you list what everyone would probably think is the obvious answer, and try to match those answers—called the “When you think of ___?” game.

For example, for questions like “When you think of onigiri fillings?” or “When you think of ball sports?”, you answer with something common or your personal standard, but the goal is to match everyone else.

You might think, “I like pickled plum for onigiri, but what will everyone else say? That person might write kelp…”—so there’s a psychological element, too.

When everyone’s answers line up perfectly, the joy is doubled.
