How about making a cute felt umbrella with a soft shape and gentle colors? Prepare three cones made from felt in your favorite colors and glue them together with a hot glue gun.

Make the handle part out of felt and attach it to a bamboo skewer cut to an appropriate length.

Insert the skewer into the umbrella, adjust the length, and secure it with the glue gun to finish.

Try decorating around the umbrella with pearl chains, lace tape, beads, or flowers made from felt.

Pop-up 3D rabbit

Why not try making an adorable rabbit that looks like it’s popping right out of the frame, using a small picture frame or photo frame from a 100-yen shop? You might think a three-dimensional pop-out rabbit sounds hard to make, but it’s actually very simple.

Just make the rabbit’s face from felt, then stack and glue several pieces of felt of the same size behind it to add thickness.

To enhance the 3D effect, place a little paw on the edge of the frame.

You can make not only rabbits—try your favorite animals or items, too!

Felt Snow Golem

This is a mascot of the Snow Golem from Minecraft, made by combining pieces of felt.

Since it’s a character that evokes a seasonal feeling, it would also be a great fit for seasonal celebrations.

Cut the felt into identical squares with perfect right angles in mind, and assemble the character while considering left-right symmetry.

If it doesn’t hold its shape well, try layering the felt or inserting a piece of cardstock inside.

When sewing or gluing, focus on keeping the corners crisp.

Macaron

Macaron

Let’s make cute, plump macarons out of felt! You might be wondering how to create that soft, round shape.

If you have a magnet or a plastic toy that’s just the right size for a macaron, use it as a mold.

Dilute some glue with water, brush it onto the felt, then drape the felt over the magnet (or other object).

Press it down from above with a cup, smoothing the wrinkles around the edges so they’re even, and let it dry as is.

Once the glue dries, it will slip off the magnet easily and hold its shape firmly.

Trim the edge, stuff the inside with finely cut felt pieces, and add a lid to complete one half.

Make another identical piece and sandwich “cream” between them.
