Banana art

A mysterious experiment where you can draw letters and pictures on a banana.
First, do the prep over three days: on Day 1, leave the banana at room temperature.
Then, for the next two days, keep the banana in the refrigerator.
That’s all the preparation you need! Next, get some water and a cotton swab, moisten the tip of the swab with water, and trace letters on the banana’s surface.
The trick is to press a little firmly as you write.
After one to three hours, the letters will mysteriously appear.
It takes a few days overall, but it’s simple, so even lower elementary school children can easily do it as a science project.

No-bake shrink plastic keychain

Shrinky dink crafts are popular, but you sometimes hear, “It warped in the oven,” or “It didn’t turn out like I imagined.” For those people, here’s a no-bake shrink-plastic keychain idea! Why not try making it with friends over summer break? Here’s how: stick your favorite stickers onto shrink plastic and cut to a suitable size.
Next, apply self-adhesive laminating film and punch a hole at the top.
For the finishing touch, trim it to your preferred shape, thread a strap through the hole, and you’re done! It also sounds fun to turn your own drawings or photos into stickers and use those.

Metal craft
@utatan_simple_crafts ← Fun original craft recipe Good evening, this is Utatan 🐰 We’re halfway through summer vacation… so this time I’m sharing a satisfying craft that even elementary schoolers will enjoy ✨ It’s an arrangement of a copper wire craft I tried at a neighborhood summer festival when I was in second grade, updated with transparent origami paper ✂️ That was the first time in my life I worked with metal, and it was a valuable experience where I learned: “Metal is a fascinating material—hard and durable, yet flexible enough to deform when bent or hammered with force.” Trying, touching, and using all kinds of materials really expands your world, doesn’t it? ♪ My daughter used a hammer and needle-nose pliers for the first time, and it became a special experience for her! (Tip: If you want to make fine curves or angles, use needle-nose pliers 👍) Metal isn’t often used in kids’ crafts, but this summer vacation, I’d love for you to try this project that lets you fully feel the properties of metal ☺️ Materials: • 2 mm aluminum craft wire (purchased at Daiso) • Transparent origami, aurora sheet • (Optional) Faux leather cord Tools: • Wire cutters, needle-nose pliers • Hammer • Work gloves • A brick or flat stone • Multi-purpose glue • Toothpicks • Scissors • Pen Caution: Please take great care to avoid injuries from wire ends and the hammer. Important: Because this is an original recipe, we prohibit the following: ▪ Unauthorized reposting of images/videos ▪ Commercial use of the work/recipe ▪ Publishing the instructions as videos/images ▪ Unauthorized use in paid craft/art classes or production workshops When posting reference works, please mention @utatan_simple_crafts ✨ We’re also looking forward to your “made it!” posts ☺️ ****************************************** Creating daily with my 5-year-old ♪ Original craft recipes for parents and kids to enjoy (We also sell craft kits and digital files 🌸) Utatan’s Simple Crafts → @utatan_simple_crafts ONLINE STORE →https://utatan-crafts.stores.jpThank you in advance 🐰✨work#I love craftsStained glassWire CraftSummer Vacation Craft#Summer vacation homework#HandmadeToysHow to Spend Summer VacationLife with childrenLife with children#HandmadeToys#diy#AtHomePlay#StayHomeTime

Let’s try a metal craft project using soft wire you can find at 100-yen shops and similar stores.
First, come up with a few patterns that can be drawn in a single stroke.
After cutting the wire to an appropriate length, shape it to match the pattern.
If bending it by hand is difficult, it’s a good idea to use tools like pliers.
Once the shape is made, hammer it to flatten the joints.
Then cut transparent origami paper to fit the pattern, and attach it from the back with glue to finish.
Botanical candle

Let’s add some flair to candles and make cute-looking botanical candles.
The process is simple: pour melted wax into a candle mold and let it harden.
A key point is the double-layer structure—an inner core where the flame burns and an outer layer sprinkled with dried flowers.
This design prevents the flame from catching on the outer decorations, making it nice and safe.
It’s also important to place the dried flowers with gaps so the wax can flow and set properly; proceed while keeping balance in mind.
Bring out your originality with your choice of dried flowers and other decorations.
Box of Light

Would you like to make a light box with a beautiful appearance? All you need are a tissue box, thermal aluminum sheet, and a clear file folder.
First, cut out the tissue box.
Next, cut the thermal aluminum sheet into thin strips, roll them up, and pack them inside the box.
Finally, color the clear file, attach it to the box, and close it up to finish.
It won’t light up on its own, but when sunlight hits it, it shines like stained glass.
Try finishing it with colors and patterns that match your room’s design.
Shaka-shaka accessory pouch
Just looking at it is soothing! Here are some ideas for a “shaka-shaka” trinket case.
Some kids might want to make their own favorite cute container.
This time, let’s make a shaka-shaka trinket case using materials you can find at a 100-yen shop.
You’ll need a clear round gift box, beads and charms, tape, and washi tape.
Put the beads and charms into the lid of the gift box, then secure it to the bottom part of the container with tape—and you’re done! Adding decorative washi tape to the container itself will make it even more festive.
