It’s a blazing, ultra-summery track by the rock band Mrs.
GREEN APPLE that opens with an epilogue straight out of a movie trailer.
Summer-laden words are sprinkled throughout the lyrics, vividly evoking the long-yet-short, treasure-filled summer vacation of boys and girls sprinting at full tilt.
And yet it gently sings to us that this isn’t a movie—it’s a story that truly happened.
A beautiful summer rock tune.
Summer with YouKetsumeishi
It’s a Ketsumeishi track whose sweet, bittersweet melody brings back memories of a summer romance gone by.
Built on a hip-hop foundation with a gentle tone, it paints scenes of an adult summer.
Time spent by the seaside and memories with a former lover are delicately woven in, stirring a sense of nostalgia and wistfulness in the listener.
It was included on the single “Like a Palm Tree / Color Variation / Summer With You,” released in August 2016, and was used as the image song for “KitKat Chocolatory.” It’s the kind of song you’ll want to listen to alone, slowly, at summer’s end.
Fish’s LoveSuper VHS
It’s a number whose lyrics resonate with the heart, conjuring bittersweet scenes of summer.
This track by the electro-pop/new wave band Super VHS, featuring Mei Ehara, rides an urban sound to sing of a fleeting love.
