Fujifabric is a three-piece rock band that made their major debut in 2004 with the album Alamode.
Their song Wakamos no Subete is captivating for its lyrics that poignantly capture the melancholy of summer’s end.
“Gazing at the last fireworks of the year, I find myself recalling those memories no matter how many years go by…”—such beautiful lines leave a lasting impression.
Songs like this, which express what young people feel in everyday life in down-to-earth words, were born in great numbers in the 2000s, which is why they feel so nostalgic.
I remember youYUI

As summer draws to a close, it’s only natural to want to listen to one of YUI’s classic songs.
Released in September 2006, this piece is deeply connected to the film “Midnight Sun” (Taiyo no Uta), in which YUI herself starred.
It was produced during the film’s preview tour and is said to have been written with the image of a character reminiscing about a beloved person.
The unforgettable feelings for someone precious who can no longer be seen are sung with a heartrending melody that truly tightens the chest.
The song is also included on the album “CAN’T BUY MY LOVE,” among others.
How about it for a long autumn night spent basking in memories of summers past, or as a companion for a slightly sentimental drive?

Like stars shining in the summer night sky, this song lights up the heart.
Released in 1999, it’s a classic by Fukumi that was also used as the 10th anniversary image song for NHK BS.
The harmonies of Kyoko, Masayoshi Yamazaki, and Suga Shikao are beautiful, brilliantly expressing both the grandeur of the universe and the warmth of human relationships.

Summer MemoriesKetsumeishi

When it comes to Ketsumeishi’s refreshing summer songs, this is the one.
Released as a single in July 2003, it’s distinguished by its poppy, catchy sound.
The lyrics depict fun times under the summer sun and memories by the seaside, and listening to it brings on a wave of nostalgia.
It’s a perfect track for cooling off in the heat.
Ideal for summer drives or seaside BBQs—highly recommended when you want to hum along with friends and make wonderful summer memories.
It’s a quintessential summer anthem that showcases Ketsumeishi’s musical style.
Heat haze of Augustmakaroni enpitsu

This is a song by the rock band Macaroni Enpitsu, formed at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in Kanagawa Prefecture.
It begins with a cool, steady atmosphere that feels like a summer breeze, then builds powerfully toward the chorus as if pouring out emotion—an impressive sonic development.
As the title suggests, the song evokes images of desperately chasing something intangible and the accompanying sense of futility.
It also seems to express the loneliness felt when the summer heat has passed.
BoyhoodInoue Yosui

It’s surprisingly hard to find songs with great lyrics that appeal to all ages and are easy to sing.
In that respect, this song is recommended for anyone.
Although it was released in 1990 and quite a bit of time has passed, it hasn’t lost its luster and has become a standard summer song by Yosui Inoue.
You should be able to sing it at a relaxed pace while savoring the lyrics.
This song even appeared in junior high and high school textbooks, and its lyrics are sprinkled with coined words that showcase Inoue’s flair.
It might be fun to try spotting them, too.
