Summer songs with great lyrics. Summer tunes that make your memories even more special (41–50)
Shadows of SummerMrs. GREEN APPLE

Mrs.
GREEN APPLE, known for popular songs like “Lilac” and “Dancehall,” released a perfect end-of-summer track in August 2025.
It’s their first summer-themed song in about seven years since “Ao to Natsu.” The lyrics capture an indescribable, sentimental feeling that comes with the changing seasons.
There’s a bittersweetness in the way the protagonist blames their pounding heart and hesitation on the summer heat and the lengthening shadows.
Give it a listen as you savor the passing days of summer.
You are the seaMy Hair is Bad

My Hair is Bad’s “Kimi ga Umi” paints a bittersweet picture of a youthful summer romance.
It’s included on their 2019 album “boys.” Even though student life continues until graduation after summer ends, the summers we spend as students feel uniquely special from beginning to end.
Add romance to the mix, and that sense of specialness grows even stronger.
Yet those joyful summer loves we experience as students fade as we graduate and become adults, turning into simple memories.
When you feel like immersing yourself in those memories from a time you can’t return to, why not sing this song in the summer and think of the “you” who meant so much to you?
Summer Colorsyuzu

When it comes to Yuzu’s signature summer song, it has to be “Natsuiro”! The lyrics are sprinkled with words that evoke classic summer scenes, letting you feel the season vividly through textures and scents—the dazzling summer sun, the pleasant breeze as you ride a bicycle, the smell of fireworks… Doesn’t it all come rushing back when you listen? With a title like “Natsuiro” (“Summer Color”), the sound itself feels quintessentially summer.
Still, what makes this song embody summer most of all, I think, are the lyrics, which capture summertime scenes with striking precision.
Like tonight’s moonElefanto Kashimashi

A song that captivates the heart with lyrics painting a beautiful summer night sky and a lyrical melody, “Like the Moon Tonight.” Known as the theme song for the drama “Because It’s a Moonlit Night” and as one of Elephant Kashimashi’s signature tracks, it features poetic lyrics whose vivid scenes leave a deep impression.
It’s especially perfect for looking up at the bright summer moon and reflecting on your day.
Sing it at karaoke, and the moving lyrics and unique vocal style are sure to get the crowd fired up.
Be sure to enjoy this heart-stirring classic this summer.
That summer is becoming an addiction.Jenīhai

Released in September 2025, this piece is a number that beautifully captures the fleeting nature of summer and the lingering afterimages of memory.
Alongside vivid scenic descriptions, it sings of unforgettable memories being etched ever deeper into the heart over time.
Takashi Niigaki’s crystal-clear piano melodies intertwine with Ikkyu Nakajima’s wistful yet resolute vocals, enveloping the entire track in a nostalgic atmosphere.
It can be described as a work that showcases the band’s ensemble, whose expressive power has grown even further since the album “Jenny Classic.” It’s the perfect song for immersing yourself in cherished memories that resurface at the end of summer.
Apples, Fireworks, and a Sea of Sodamafumafu

Mafumafu, a Vocaloid producer known for incorporating rock elements into his style.
When it comes to summer songs he’s created, “Ringo Hanabi to Soda no Umi” comes to mind.
While using phrases that evoke a festival atmosphere, the lyrics portray the sad events and unfairness in the world.
The comfortable rhythm lingers in your ears, and the words really make you think.
It also has the fast tempo characteristic of Vocaloid, so singing it would likely liven up the crowd.
Try singing it while paying attention to the meaning of the title.
Everyday, KachushaAKB48

This is a quintessential AKB48 song created by the golden duo: multi-creator and lyricist Yasushi Akimoto and hitmaker Yoshimasa Inoue, who has worked on numerous 48 Group hits.
Although it was released in 2011, the entire 48 Group still treasures and continues to sing this track.
Fans love it, too.
The lyrics, told from “my” perspective about feelings of first love for a girl who looks great in a headband, evoke the timeless, sparkling youth that never fades.
With Atsuko Maeda shining brilliantly as center, it’s a highly recommended summer song!
