Backgrounds made with a stamp pad

You can create album backgrounds with an ink pad! Here are some ideas that are useful for making graduation albums.

The first idea is simple: press the ink pad directly onto the paper at random.

If you put masking tape around the border, you can stamp without worrying about going over the edges.

Once it’s dry, adding photos looks cute and is recommended.

The second idea is to use masking tape to cover the ink pad in a triangle shape.

Just by applying masking tape, you can make adorable triangle stamps.

For both methods, the key is not to layer stamps until the ink is dry.

If you want to stamp over the entire sheet, cover the paper’s border with masking tape.

Handmade albums and message cards created with the recipient in mind for special occasions like graduation ceremonies make for a truly moving time for both the sender and the recipient.

Print out text you’ve created on a computer and cut out the letters.

Choose photos that capture your memories with the recipient, and paste them to match the cut-out letters—then you’ll have a one-of-a-kind original message card.

Give it a try and make a photo message card that will be a cherished memory for a lifetime!

Cover the album with cloth

Easy makeover: cover the album with fabric! Perfect for a gift.
Cover the album with cloth

Quick and easy makeover with fabric! Here’s how to make an original album that’s perfect for preschool graduation.

Cut a piece of Kent paper (thick drawing paper) to the same size as the album cover.

You’ll be attaching two types of fabric, so draw guide lines where each fabric will go.

Use wood glue to attach the Kent paper to the album cover.

Next, use wood glue to attach the fabric.

Trim the fabric around the album so the margins are an even width.

Cut the corners diagonally, leaving about 3 mm.

Make small cuts in the fabric allowance along the spine, then apply wood glue and fold the fabric over onto the album, shaping it neatly as you go.

Decorate with ribbon using wood glue, and finally, glue another sheet of Kent paper covered with fabric to the inside of the back cover with wood glue to finish!

eraser stamp

Did you know you can transfer a design onto an eraser stamp using nail polish remover? Soak the surface of the eraser with nail polish remover, then place a photocopied design on top and dab more remover over it using a tissue.

Once the liquid dries, gently peel the paper off.

The image will be transferred.

If it doesn’t work, you can wipe everything off with remover and try again.

After carving the eraser with a craft knife, ink it on a stamp pad and give it a try.

It’s also fun to add more color to the stamped image afterward.

[Class Photo] Class motif decorations

If you design it with the class as a motif, opening it will likely bring back memories with your friends.

Classes often have names like “Sora-gumi,” right? In that case, you could use a sky illustration for the background or choose a pale light blue.

Similarly, for “Sakura-gumi,” try scattering cherry blossoms, and for “Zō-gumi,” place an elephant character.

This will highlight the unique originality of the class and give the entire album a lively impression.

[Lace-style Material] Create a Photo Frame

Graduation albums tend to use a large number of photos, which can make it hard to see what the highlight of each page is.

Also, if you decorate them too colorfully, people’s attention may focus only on the decorations rather than the photos.

Using lace stickers that you can buy at 100-yen shops is a good idea.

Their soft look doesn’t distract from the photos, and the added texture gives a natural finish.

It’s an easy tip that makes the children—the stars of the album—easier to see.

Add decorations tailored to the event

Kindergartens and daycare centers are places filled with many memories for children.

You probably have photos capturing a variety of their expressions.

To make it easier to see which photo belongs to which event, why not decorate the album according to each event? Not only will it make browsing through many photos easier, but it will also make the album itself more vibrant and add to the joy of opening it.

It’s a simple idea that brightens the entire album while making the children’s smiles look even cuter.
