[Challenge] Practice Songs for Electric Guitar Beginners (71–80)
MissingELLEGARDEN

The fourth single by ELLEGARDEN, a four-piece rock band that many musicians and bands openly cite as an influence.
With its wistful melody and dynamic song structure, it’s a fan favorite.
The arpeggio that runs from the intro into the first verse is striking, but since the tempo is slow and the hand position doesn’t move much, it’s easy to copy.
Despite using only simple techniques like palm muting and power chords, it’s packed with exquisitely catchy phrases, making it a satisfying number for beginner guitarists to cover.
shutterYuuri

A digital-only single track, the sixth major release by male singer-songwriter Yuuri, whose further success is highly anticipated following the massive hit of his second major single, “Dry Flower.” Written specifically for members of his official YouTube channel, it also drew attention as his first-ever self-cover.
While much of the playing centers on arpeggios, you can perform it using only basic chords by placing a capo on the 3rd fret.
Once you get comfortable, try adding fills; it’s a recommended practice piece for beginner electric guitarists.
Demachiyanagi Parallel UniverseASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION

Despite having few performances on terrestrial TV, the four-piece rock band ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION has become a name everyone knows.
Their 29th single, “Demachiyanagi Parallel Universe,” was used as the theme song for the animated film The Tatami Time Machine Blues, and the music video—featuring the band members dressed as characters from the movie—also drew attention.
Centered on strummed backing and a single-note riff that appears in the instrumental break, the song is simple and not particularly fast in tempo, making it approachable for beginner guitarists.
It’s a track you can tackle with plenty of confidence in a band ensemble—one we highly recommend you try.
Cigarettes & AlcoholOasis

A song by Oasis, the British rock band that openly professed their admiration for the legendary Beatles and gained worldwide popularity with well-crafted melodies and striking chord progressions.
Released as a single from their masterpiece debut album Definitely Maybe—which topped the UK charts—the track stands out for its raw, rock ’n’ roll edge and irresistibly catchy melody.
The guitar sound defines the character of the song, which might make it seem challenging, but the slow tempo means even beginner guitarists can learn it without trouble.
It’s a rock tune worth remembering, one that lets you experience the fun of playing together as a band.
Shut upSimple Plan

A song by Simple Plan, a pop-punk band from Canada whose albums have all been hits around the world, especially in the U.S.
and Europe.
Its poppy, catchy melodies and brisk, refreshing feel will get any rock fan hyped without question.
While the overall arrangement is flavored by adding memorable single-note riffs to phrases centered on power chords, the techniques are simple enough for beginner guitarists to try.
However, when playing with a band, be sure to keep tight timing so you don’t fall out of sync with the other parts.
