Here’s a handmade chopstick pouch idea that can be used by both right- and left-handed people.

Prepare an outer fabric and a lining fabric that form a right triangle with a 90-degree angle, a square piece of fabric, and a cord.

Sew the cord to the tip of the triangular outer fabric and layer it with the lining.

Stitch with a sewing machine past the point where one side exceeds the length of the other two equal sides of the triangle, then press the seam allowance open.

Mark from the edge along the base of the triangle, lift the outer layer, and fold the fabric inward to match the mark.

Align the bottom edges, tuck the cord inside, and sew with the machine, leaving an opening for turning.

Trim the corners where the seam allowances overlap, turn the piece right side out, and shape it with an iron.

Topstitch from the edge, then sew from the back of the pocket with a machine to complete the main body.

Attach a loop end to the fabric and cord to finish a portable chopstick pouch.
