Bed mobile made with embroidery
Incorporating embroidery into a crib mobile is also a classic approach.
There are various methods, but it’s said to be common to add embroidery to the charm discs or the stuffed toys.
As for the motifs, popular choices include flowers associated with the birth month, characters, names, and initials.
Take your time and create a one-of-a-kind design.
By the way, embroidery is also perfect when you want to add a special touch to a finished crib mobile.
Felt crib mobile

Using felt will give your baby mobile a warm, cozy finish.
For example, how about making small felt charms, linking them together, and hanging them? Alternatively, you could make larger stuffed figures out of felt and hang those.
Either way, the texture of felt should create a gentle, soothing atmosphere.
One small caution: if you have pets like cats, they may be very attracted to felt, so please be careful.
Macramé crib mobile

Handmade items that take a long time to craft feel heartwarming, as if they carry the maker’s feelings, don’t they? With that in mind, I’d like to suggest a macramé crib mobile.
Macramé refers to a knotting technique, specifically a method of creating a lattice-like pattern.
When incorporating it into a crib mobile, you can either knot the charms or the hanging cords—both are great options.
By the way, there’s no strict rule about materials for macramé, but using macramé cord helps prevent unraveling.

Mascot bed mobile

Using mascots is also a classic method when you want to make an easy DIY crib mobile.
Here, “mascots” refers to products sold at toy stores or in capsule machines: small plush toys with strings attached.
Just undo the string and tie the plush to the arm, and your original crib mobile is complete.
Mascots are also sold at souvenir shops, so it’s lovely to create a mobile that gathers mementos.
Additionally, some mobile arms are designed from the start to let you secure thread, so buying one of those makes DIY even easier.
A crib mobile made from yarn and cardboard

Believe it or not, there’s a way to make a crib mobile using only cardboard.
It can be hard to picture, so let’s go through it step by step.
First, cut some cardboard into any shapes you like.
It’s fine to use pieces that already have writing on them.
Next, wrap the cut-out cardboard shapes with yarn.
Finally, hang the yarn-wrapped pieces from the mobile arm—and you’re done.
It’s easy, budget-friendly, and another plus is that it’s simple to fix if it breaks.
A crib mobile made from paper cups
It sounds fun to make a baby mobile together with your kids, doesn’t it? Here’s a craft idea using paper cups.
First, prepare regular paper cups and make a hole in the bottom.
Next, thread some vinyl tape through the hole.
Then tie one end to the arm and the other end to a charm—that’s it.
You can also make the charms yourself with construction paper or origami paper.
Painting the paper cups is a great touch, too.
Try working on it while sharing ideas and having fun.
Wool-felt crib mobile
Mobiles with a space or night-sky theme are lovely, aren’t they? But when you actually try to make one, it’s easy to get stuck on where to start.
That’s why I recommend using wool felt.
First, gather a few colors of wool felt and roll each into small balls.
Make one larger ball with yellow felt as well.
Then connect them and hang them up—that’s it.
Don’t the small balls look like stars and the yellow ball like a full moon? You can even shape it into a crescent moon if you prefer.
