They began activity in 1995 and earned high acclaim both in Japan and abroad, and they’ve continued to release music steadily to this day.
The allure of Church of Misery lies in their growling, low-end-heavy sound and English lyrics themed around infamous American figures.

Janne Da Arc, with vocalist yasu’s soaring voice and the band’s solid instrumental technique, earned strong popularity even among instrumentalists.

SlySLY

SLY is a band formed by members who symbolize Japanese heavy metal of the 1980s: Shinichiro Ishihara, formerly the guitarist of EARTHSHAKER; Minoru Niihara and Munetaka Higuchi from LOUDNESS; and Koichi Terasawa, formerly of BLIZARD.
They are a classic Japanese hard rock band that consistently delivered hard rock grounded in solid technique.
Hard BlowFLATBACKER

Formed in Sapporo, Hokkaido in 1982, the heavy metal band FLATBACKER is known for its unique sound that incorporates elements of thrash metal and hardcore punk.
In 1984, they released a seven-track demo tape titled “Minagoroshi” (Massacre) and won Yamaha’s band battle competition, Stage Flight ’84.
They released their first album, “Sensō – Accident -,” in 1985, followed by their second album, “Esa,” the next year.
The members later moved to the United States and changed the band’s name to E.Z.O.
Their determination to take on the world from Japan has left a lasting impression on many fans.

This is Lazy’s third single, released in 1978.
Active in the late 1970s, Lazy were promoted like an idol-style rock band, but they were a legendary group featuring heavyweights of Japan’s hard rock scene: Hironobu Kageyama on vocals, Akira Takasaki on guitar, and Munetaka Higuchi on drums.
Even in this video, despite the song being pop, an absolutely blistering guitar solo erupts—it’s hilarious.

When it comes to authentic rock bands that originated from the visual kei scene, DIR EN GREY stands out.
Vocalist Kyo’s singing ability is among the best in visual kei, expressing a wide range of emotions through various vocal techniques.
They’ve performed numerous overseas concerts and appeared at festivals, gaining recognition around the world—including in Finland, the holy land of metal.
