Omega RythmTHE MUSMUS

They began performing under a new band name in 2015.
The female vocalist’s powerful singing and captivating voice are popular.
The loud, hard-hitting rhythm section they showcase between songs is another hallmark of the band, creating a memorable sound.
Highly recommended.
Sky of OblivionSADS

SADS is a rock band formed around Kiyoharu, the vocalist of Kuroyume.
Their 2000 single “Boukyaku no Sora” gained attention as the theme song for the drama Ikebukuro West Gate Park, starring Tomoya Nagase.
Its fleeting yet intense sound is a timeless masterpiece that stays with you no matter when you listen to it.
Dog FightSABBRABELLS

Formed in the early 1980s, the Japanese heavy metal band SABBRABELLS is known for a sound heavily influenced by Black Sabbath.
With demonic costumes and lyrics, as well as powerful, dramatic songs, they enjoyed such popularity that in 1986 they were dubbed titles like “The Emperor of Meguro Rock-May-Kan” and “The Last Big Name of the Indies.” They made their major-label debut on King Records and released the album SAILING ON THE REVENGE.
Their live album LIVE!! was also well received, but the band disbanded in 1987 after releasing only three albums.
In 2015, they reunited for a limited time and returned to the stage for the first time in about 30 years.
They’re a band that not only fans of ’80s heavy metal but anyone interested in the Japanese music scene should definitely check out.
GrasshopperCOCOBAT

These days, bands that “debut on foreign labels” or “play at overseas festivals” are nothing unusual, but cocobat is a Japanese band that has been active worldwide since the early 1990s.
Combining the aggressive bass of band leader TAKE-SHIT with a hardcore punk sound, they have continued to create a one-of-a-kind music.

SAVIOR NEVER CRYConcerto Moon

Concerto Moon, one of the bands representing Japan’s heavy metal scene, was formed in 1996 around Norifumi Shima.
They made their major-label debut with VAP in 1998, and their first album reached No.
16 on the Oricon charts.
Blending power metal and neoclassical metal, they have continued to captivate fans at home and abroad with their distinctive sound.
After resuming activities in 2007, they released new works energetically, and in September 2011 unveiled their ninth album, which became a signature release.
Their grand sonic world—woven from ferocious guitar solos, powerful vocals, and dramatic keyboard work—is highly regarded as a one-of-a-kind sound that unites the allure of heavy metal and classical music.
Highly recommended for music fans seeking a heavy, commanding sound and exceptional musicianship.
DEAD END KIDSinugami saakasu dan

The rock band Inugami Circus-dan, which gained attention on the music variety show Ebisu Onsen, has captivated fans for years with its dark aesthetic.
Their name comes from the circus troupe that appears in the film Pastoral: To Die in the Country, and while they previously performed under the name Inugami Circus-dan (using standard characters), in 2012 they adopted their current stylization along with the concept of being a “more lyrical, extreme, underground, Japanese-style band.” Despite a look and concept that often get them labeled as a novelty act, they boast powerful vocals and musicianship, making it easy to understand why their impact on Japan’s indie scene is said to be immeasurable.
Once you start listening, you’ll be drawn into the depths for sure—an exceptional band that only Japanese artists could have created.
Beautiful Dreamer9mm Parabellum Bullet

They’re a four-piece rock band formed in Yokohama.
Their music uniquely blends the intensity of post-hardcore and screamo with the intricate, phrase-by-phrase complexity reminiscent of alternative and progressive rock, all balanced with a lush, melodious flair rooted in both Eastern and Western pop traditions.
They’re also the very pioneers who sparked the “Zankyo-kei” trend from the early 2000s onward.
While their distinctive sound tends to polarize listeners, once it clicks, it has the power to drive fans to ecstatic obsession.
