Attraction Ideas for a School Festival Only High Schoolers Could Make!? (11–20)
water slide

In recent years, more schools have been building roller coasters for their cultural festivals, but let’s add a twist and try a water slide instead.
It seems the standard approach is to build the course base with steel scaffolding pipes like those used on construction sites.
Lay a blue tarp over that, run water down it, and if you set up a pool of water at the end of the course, your water slide is complete.
Striking the right balance between safety and thrill is tricky, but participants will likely be delighted by the extraordinary experience.
VR footage

When it comes to VR videos, people tend to think you need specialized equipment and that it’s expensive.
But in fact, it’s easy to turn VR videos into a cultural festival attraction.
For example, a common method is attaching a smartphone to goggles sold at 100-yen shops.
However, VR videos using smartphones have the drawback of lower image quality.
If you want higher-quality footage, it’s a good idea to look for stores that rent equipment at low prices.
You can even rent the actual VR content.
Horror-type VR videos, in particular, are guaranteed to get the crowd excited! And if you want to go the extra mile, you can also create your own VR videos.
hovercraft

A hovercraft is an amphibious vehicle that moves by floating on a cushion of air.
In fact, in Japan they’re actually used on a route connecting Oita Airport and downtown Oita.
You might think, “Can you really build something like that?” but you can make one using a blower to push air, plus an inner tube and some wood! Once you’ve finished a hovercraft sturdy enough to carry a person, set up a course inside the classroom and let it run on that course—participants are guaranteed to have a great time!
Haunted house

When you think of a school festival classic, a haunted house probably comes to mind.
Haunted houses sometimes get a reputation for being low quality, but in fact, you can make them really scary by focusing on a few key points.
First, make it as dark as possible—the best is when visitors can hardly see their feet.
Second, use smells and sounds to heighten the sense of fear.
Third, build suspense and catch people off guard before you scare them.
If you want to create a terrifying haunted house, give these tips a try!

♬ Haunted Mansion – Tokyo Disneyland
One attraction you can almost always find at amusement and theme parks is the haunted house! It’s also a staple at school festivals.
Among the many haunted house styles, I recommend one inspired by Disneyland’s attraction, the Haunted Mansion.
The hallmark of the Haunted Mansion is that, while it’s a haunted house, it isn’t too scary and even includes humorous elements.
With that in mind, try creating a fun, lighthearted haunted house.
It could also be interesting to incorporate touches that evoke the original attraction.
VR Coaster
As a hands-on exhibit for a school or cultural festival, a VR roller coaster is highly recommended.
Recently, recreating a roller coaster in the classroom using desks and wood has become popular, and this attraction combines that setup with VR footage.
Because you can view stereoscopic visuals, the sense of fear is doubled, and it’s likely to become a very popular attraction!

Laser mission-style attraction

You’ve probably seen it in movies or comics: lasers stretching from walls and ceilings, and if you touch one, an alarm goes off and the enemies come running.
This idea turns that kind of laser mission into an attraction! Instead of real lasers, all you need are colored strings and bells.
Stretch the strings crisscross across a room from wall to wall, and attach a bell to each one.
Guests twist and contort their bodies to reach the goal without touching the strings.
If they touch a string and a bell rings, they fail.
Since it requires only a few materials, it’s super easy to set up!
