Recommended karaoke songs for male vocalists with high voices

In recent years, the number of male artists with high-tone voices has increased significantly.

Some naturally have high voices, while many others use techniques like mixed voice and belting to hit high notes.

This time, we’ll introduce a wide range of karaoke songs recommended for people with high voices!

Of course, they’re great for men with naturally high voices, but also for those who want to be able to sing in the higher range or practice their mixed voice.

These tracks are perfect as practice songs, too!

Why not use the songs we introduce as a reference and belt out high-tone vocals at karaoke to your heart’s content?

Like breathingVaundy

[Theme song of the film “Just Remembering”] Vaundy - “Like Breathing” (from the 2nd album “replica,” released on 2023.11.15)
Like breathingVaundy

This is the 25th single by Japanese singer-songwriter Vaundy, released in November 2023.

It was selected as the theme song for the film “Just the Two of Us” (Seiyoku).

I felt it was crafted as an aesthetic and emotional rock ballad that closely aligns with the film’s worldview.

In particular, the chorus showcases Vaundy’s overwhelming high tones, making it an ideal choice for those who want to make the most of their natural voice.

Be sure to bring out clear dynamic contrasts across each phrase and section, and maximize the appeal of your inherent high-register vocals!

A band known for many difficult high-tone phrases, TK from Ling tosite sigure.

While all of their works could be considered challenging, the one I especially recommend as a particularly tough piece is Fantastic Magic.

The hardest point of this song is, without a doubt, the chorus.

The range is mid1E to hiG#, which is still better compared to unravel, but almost the entire chorus sits at hiE or above.

Since the chorus is composed almost entirely of high-tone vocals, by the time you finish singing, the strain on your temples and throat will be immense—but I encourage you to give it a try.

Among TK from Ling tosite sigure’s songs, the masterpiece “unravel” is renowned for its exceptional difficulty.

Known as the theme song for the popular anime Tokyo Ghoul, many people may have discovered it through Ado’s cover as well.

The most challenging aspects of this song are, above all, its vocal range and expressive breadth.

The range spans an extraordinarily wide mid2 A# to hihi A#, with repeated hi G notes in the chorus.

On top of that, it demands a wide variety of vocal techniques, including scream-like phrases and trembling lines that make use of whisper voice.

Its level of difficulty is among the highest even within Japanese rock.

UVERworld is a band that commands overwhelming support from men with their motivational messaging and razor-sharp musicality.

While they have many exhilarating tracks, a lot of them are also quite challenging.

Among them, the one I especially recommend is “7th Trigger.” The vocal range in this song is extremely high, spanning from mid2A to hiF, with the chorus repeatedly hitting hiA to hiD.

It’s a piece that stands out for its sheer height, but since there’s room to lower the key, try tackling it in the key that suits you best.

When people think of bands with lots of difficult songs, many probably imagine X JAPAN first.

TOSHI’s high-tone vocals are quite hard to replicate, and it’s no exaggeration to say most of their tracks are challenging.

Among X JAPAN’s songs, one I especially recommend is Silent Jealousy.

Its range is mid2B to hi C#, which isn’t particularly wide for X JAPAN, but most of the chorus sits between hi B and hi C#, making the chorus impressively high.

It’s a great practice piece for those looking to build endurance in their high-tone vocals.

You’re the Only…Ono Masatoshi

You’re the Only…Ono Masatoshi

Masatoshi Ono is known in Japan as one of the top masters of high-tone vocals.

In addition to his falsetto, he is highly regarded for his mixed voice, and he’s famous for delivering solid sound pressure even at high pitches.

Speaking of Ono’s most challenging songs, “You’re the Only…” is probably at the top of the list.

This piece features an exceptionally wide range from mid1 G# to hi B, and it does not use falsetto.

In other words, because every high-tone phrase has to be sung in chest voice, it’s difficult to pull off unless you possess an unusually specialized vocal range to begin with.

Moreover, as a rock ballad, it also demands vocal power, making it a song of very high difficulty in every respect.

This is the opening theme for the second cour of Season 2 of the Nippon TV anime “The Apothecary Diaries,” which skillfully expresses the mystery and wonder of kotodama—the spiritual power of words.

Created by Mrs.

GREEN APPLE in April 2025, the piece brilliantly fuses an oriental atmosphere with band-driven sound.

Interweaving contrasting elements like the moon and the sun, love and apology, it powerfully sings of an eternal love that lasts into the next life.

Like a medicine that can both heal and harm, this grand work delves deeply into the duality of emotions and the power inherent in words.

For karaoke, we recommend singing with heartfelt emotion, keeping in mind vocalist Motoki Omori’s richly expressive delivery.
