Some naturally have high voices, while many others use techniques like mixed voice and belting to hit high notes.

This time, we’ll introduce a wide range of karaoke songs recommended for people with high voices!

Of course, they’re great for men with naturally high voices, but also for those who want to be able to sing in the higher range or practice their mixed voice.

These tracks are perfect as practice songs, too!

Why not use the songs we introduce as a reference and belt out high-tone vocals at karaoke to your heart’s content?

globeYonezu Kenshi

Kenshi Yonezu – Spinning Globe
globeYonezu Kenshi

This is Kenshi Yonezu’s 14th CD single, released in July 2023.

It was written as the theme song for the Hayao Miyazaki-directed film “The Boy and the Heron.” Yonezu is a singer with an incredibly appealing, highly transparent high register, isn’t he? This track is also an ideal choice for male singers with higher voices to select at karaoke.

If your vocals get messy, the song’s delicate atmosphere will be ruined, so make sure to sing each word and each note with care.

In sections like the chorus where a bright, resonant tone is needed, try placing the sound so it strikes the roof of your mouth.

That should noticeably increase the clarity of your voice!

Kenshi Yonezu “Tsuki o Miteita” – Moongazing (Turkish Translation + Lyrics + Romaji)
I was looking at the moon.Yonezu Kenshi

This is Kenshi Yonezu’s fifth digital-only single, released in June 2023.

It was created as the theme song for the game FINAL FANTASY XVI, published by Square Enix.

Within this lyrical ballad, Yonezu’s resonant, ringing vocals can be enjoyed to the fullest.

I’d love for male singers with higher ranges to take on its soaring high notes.

That said, faithfully capturing the mood of the original requires very delicate expressive control, so simply having a high voice may not be enough—the bar to perform it well can be quite high.

It’s a song I recommend tackling only after thoroughly studying the original, understanding how to shape dynamics and pacing, and then giving it a try.

Ghost of the SeaYonezu Kenshi

Kenshi Yonezu – Spirits of the Sea
Ghost of the SeaYonezu Kenshi

It was produced as the theme song for the feature-length animated film Children of the Sea, based on the original work by Daisuke Igarashi and produced by STUDIO4°C.

It was released digitally in June 2019, and then released on CD in September of the same year as his 10th single.

Now, as for Kenshi Yonezu, who sings this song, his range—especially toward the higher register—is remarkable, but his actual vocal timbre isn’t that high, so it might be a bit challenging for singers who simply have a naturally high chest voice.

However, you don’t need piercing high notes in a chesty head voice like a metal singer would.

If you can skillfully and appropriately switch between falsetto and mixed (middle) voice, you should be able to sing it nicely.

Listen closely to the original track, study which vocal qualities are used where, and then give it a try!

Horse and deerYonezu Kenshi

This is a single by Kenshi Yonezu that started digital distribution in August 2019 and was released on CD in September of the same year as his 10th single.

The vocals are likely sung throughout primarily in a mid-voice registration, and in the high notes of the chorus you can enjoy a very expansive and powerful male high tone that evokes the high notes of classical opera singers.

It might be a bit difficult to sing this song just because you have a naturally high chest voice, but men with higher natural voices are still in a pretty advantageous position to tackle it—so definitely give it a try and make it your own!

Beautiful creatureSuda Masaki

Beautiful creatureSuda Masaki

Masaki Suda’s fourth digital-only single, released in February 2023.

As the title suggests, it’s crafted so that his gentle, soft vocals resonate beautifully over a gorgeously arranged backing track.

It’s a great choice for men with clear, high voices to pick for karaoke.

To sing it well, mastering the so-called mixed voice will be key, so it might help to study that beforehand.

Be careful to keep your tone from getting harsh throughout.

Try singing while exhaling slowly and carefully; you should be able to recreate a pleasing vocal quality.

Give it a try.

Fujii Kaze – grace(Official Video)

It was Fujii Kaze’s 12th digital-only single, released in October 2022.

The song was reportedly written specifically for the “KAZE FILMS docomo future project,” a collaborative project with NTT Docomo that began on March 23, 2022.

With a mechanically pulsing four-on-the-floor kick drum and an arrangement and melody that seem to freely roam through space above it, the track achieves a uniquely captivating sound world.

I feel that Fujii Kaze’s vocals—radiating a slightly boyish charm—are indispensable to expressing this atmosphere.

For male singers with higher voices, I’d love to see you recreate this world to the fullest at karaoke.

Be mindful of the contrast between sections you sing in a relaxed, floating manner and those you deliver with power, and try performing with that dynamic in mind!

Burn!Fuji Kaze

Fujii Kaze – MO-EH-YO (Official Video)
Burn!Fuji Kaze

A digital-only single by Fujii Kaze, released on September 4, 2021.

From the very beginning, a lively vocal—likely using mixed voice—bursts out, suggesting this could be an ideal karaoke choice for men who are good at singing high notes.

Fujii’s voice is incredibly appealing, rich in high-order overtones.

That said, in the chorus’s higher sections he also showcases a fairly masculine, powerful tone, so be mindful of that when you sing.

It may be a song that requires careful control of dynamics and contrast, so make sure to study it well before performing!
