Recommended karaoke songs for male vocalists with high voices (311–320)
Resident of the EyeL’Arc〜en〜Ciel
L’Arc~en~Ciel’s 23rd single, released in March 2004.
Since L’Arc is categorized as a so‑called visual kei band, this track, too, might come off—speaking bluntly—as a bit delicate, with that characteristic “V-kei vocal style” dominating the impression.
But it’s by no means limited to that: at the key moments, vocalist hyde delivers a powerful high tone, which is where his remarkable presence really shows.
The way he switches between piercing head voice and gentle falsetto is especially appealing.
Fully reproducing this might be difficult even for those comfortable with high notes, but after studying the original closely, it could be fun to find a way of singing that brings out the best in your own voice.
Awesome LifeNovelbright
Novelbright is a rock band with a catchy sound that’s hugely popular among younger generations.
They’ve churned out a string of hit tunes, but among them, Awesome Life especially showcases their soaring high notes.
The real charm of this track lies in the falsetto sections in the chorus.

It’s a digital-only single by Novelbright, a rock band from Osaka, released in April 2022.
Yudai Takenaka, who serves as the vocalist for Novelbright, has a voice rich in captivating higher overtones, making this an ideal track for high-voiced male singers to try at karaoke.
The song also features an appealingly simple, acoustic guitar–driven backing track, so aim to sing lightly and gently to keep the performance from becoming too intense or heavy.
Deceptive LoveShido
This is the lead track from SID’s album Umibe, released in March 2022, and it was pre-released as the lead single ahead of the album.
Mao, SID’s vocalist, is one of those singers with an appealing slightly higher vocal quality.
In particular, the song we’re introducing here, “Damasiai” (“Deceptive Love”), doesn’t use a very wide vocal range in its melody, so it’s a great recommendation even for people whose timbre is on the higher side but who aren’t especially comfortable with very high notes.
The song also features a slightly swaying groove, so make sure to lock into the beat and be careful not to let your singing feel heavy.
Love Story Comes SuddenlyOda Kazumasa
Kazumasa Oda of Off Course released his sixth solo single in February 1991—a song produced as the theme for the so-called “Getsu 9” drama Tokyo Love Story.
Because both the song and the drama were huge hits, many people are likely familiar with it or have at least heard it.
Speaking of Kazumasa Oda, he’s a singer known for his distinctive high-tone voice, and being able to sing his songs is almost a special privilege for men with a high vocal range.
Melodically, the song isn’t particularly difficult, so as long as you can handle the high notes, you’re in great shape to sing it! When actually performing it, be careful not to let the rhythm or feel slip in the chorus, which is built on two-beat triplet phrases.

Midnight ExpresswayOkazaki Taiiku
This is singer-songwriter Okazaki Taiiku’s 11th digital single, released in August 2021.
It was also used in a TV commercial for the SMBC Group, so many of you may have heard it there.
This work is a cover of a song originally released by Flower Companyz as their 16th single.
Now, while Okazaki Taiiku isn’t a singer known for a distinctly high, feminine voice, this track features many sections—especially in the chorus—where he delivers powerful high notes.
It’s a great song for male singers who are good at high registers to showcase their vocal appeal.
Be careful not to let your tone become thin or weak in the high parts, and try to sing it as powerfully as he does! For the high notes, try engaging your solar plexus area and lifting your ribcage as you sing.
You should be able to produce a much more powerful sound!
Don’t StayLead
Lead is a three-member Japanese dance and vocal group that has been active since the 2000s.
In their early days, they mainly released songs that epitomized J-pop, but recently they’ve been incorporating K-pop-style elements that are trending, and their popularity has been heating up even more.
Among their tracks, the one I especially recommend for men with higher voices is “Don’t Stay.” While this song does include characteristics of K-pop, it has an overall strong rock flavor.
