Hi-STANDARD, the band that revolutionized Japan’s punk rock scene.
This track, included on their 2017 masterpiece The Gift—their first full-length album in 18 years—feels like a song about the band’s journey itself, a number that tugs tightly at the heart.
It lovingly embraces days gone by while gently affirming the present of adulthood, sung over a melody that soaks into the soul.
The music video, which incorporates documentary footage, is also striking, intertwining their history and stirring the listener’s heart.
It’s a warm yet emotional song that keeps you company on nights when you want to reminisce with old friends, or when you pause to look back on the past.

It’s a song with a stylish, striking title.
It carries a bold and humorous message from Group Tamashii.
The lyrics, rich in irony, compellingly depict the complex emotions of modern people struggling with love.
Sadao Abe’s vocals really bring out the humor in the words.

MORATORIUMNorthern19

They’re a three-piece, but I felt a powerful, heavy sound.
The band was formed when three people from the north, all 19 at the time, came together.
They’ve grown into a popular band and are active at many major festivals.
The twin vocals are excellent and fit the songs perfectly! Their album cover designs are so good that I’ve even bought records just for the jackets.
I’m excited for what’s next.
FUSUMASHIMA

The casual feel of the lyrics is actually nice.
It seems like they value the melody more than the lyrics, setting the words onto the tune.
The song “FUSUMA” has a great tempo and a rhythm that makes your body naturally sway.
In the music video, Akuyama from the comedy duo Robert—who’s from the same hometown—makes an appearance! The result is an even more humorous and entertaining video.
Despite having many pop and bright songs, their live performances are on the intense side.

Recommended for those struggling with love or looking to ignite their hearts.
A profoundly layered song that reveals new charms with every listen.
Quit the bandNihon Madonna

A women’s punk band that can blow away everything in daily life with raw, simple force like the Ramones: “Nihon Madonna.” Just as the title suggests, its message delivers a heart’s scream straight to you, and the thunderous sound resonates deep inside.
They are a bona fide punk band that reaffirms the liberating spirit of punk rock—regardless of gender or nationality—as the freest, most accessible music that belongs to everyone.
