Goldfish at the summer festival

[Simple with one sheet] Stylish and eye-catching! Summer festival goldfish that everyone will love #AtHomePlay #HandmadeToys #PreschoolIdeas #HomeFestival
Goldfish at the summer festival

Here’s a goldfish craft idea that will be a big hit at summer festivals in your facility.

Make the goldfish by covering a balled-up tissue with flower paper, shaping it, stapling it in place, and adding eyes—that’s it! It’s cute as is, but add one more touch to give it a summer festival vibe.

Put sparkly packing material or colored cellophane into a wrapping bag to represent water.

Place the goldfish—attached to fishing line—inside, then close the wrapping bag so it forms a triangle.

This way, you can recreate the feeling of goldfish scooping at a festival!

A box of swimming goldfish made of paper

Summer Vacation Science Project!? How to Make a Swimming Paper Goldfish in a Box – DIY Tutorial
A box of swimming goldfish made of paper

Let’s make a paper box with a swimming goldfish.

There’s a template for the goldfish, so even if you’re not good at drawing, you’ll be fine.

The box itself isn’t too difficult either—you just combine the circular parts with the side parts to complete it.

Once the box is finished, attach pillar parts made with paper quilling to the edge of the bottom.

After adding height this way, place the small parts inside and layer a circular plastic sheet on top.

Attach the pillar parts again, then add the goldfish and beads, and seal it with another plastic sheet.

This creates a double-layered bottom, allowing the goldfish to slide and move.

goldfish wind chime

[Origami] How to Make a Goldfish Wind Chime
goldfish wind chime

On hot summer days, hearing the tinkling sound of wind chimes—“chirin, chirin”—can make the heat feel more bearable.

Many older adults may also associate wind chimes with the image of summer.

With that in mind, here’s a perfect summer craft: a goldfish wind chime.

The goldfish will be made with origami.

Because the goldfish has a three-dimensional finish, attach it to the bell portion of the wind chime and add a tanzaku (paper strip).

If you also attach a small bell, you’ll hear a gentle sound every time the wind blows.

Older adults may find it novel that you can make a wind chime out of origami.

Colorful streamers

Colorful streamers

In some places, the Tanabata Festival is held in summer, right? Nothing sets the mood quite like Tanabata decorations.

Here’s a colorful paper streamer you can make with origami that also works great as a wall decoration.

Leave about 1.5 centimeters uncut from one end of the origami paper, and make slits about 1 centimeter wide.

Attach a strip of origami paper the same width as the portion you left at the beginning, then roll the whole sheet into a tube.

Thread a string through, and your streamer is complete.

It looks lovely on its own, but making a paper kusudama (decorative ball) and attaching it to the streamer makes it even prettier.

Older adults who enjoy origami might also have fun making this.

By the way, the streamer represents the weaving threads offered by Orihime, and displaying it is said to carry the wish for improvement in sewing skills.

Goldfish suncatcher

[How to Make] [Easy DIY] We’ll make a summery, translucent ‘Goldfish Suncatcher.’
Goldfish suncatcher

Here’s a recommended idea for a summer craft to make at a day service: the “Goldfish Suncatcher.” Goldfish made with transparent acrylic parts catch the light and sparkle, creating a cool, refreshing atmosphere.

By reusing an empty cheese box as the base, it’s easy, eco-friendly, and very stable.

Although it uses familiar materials, the finished piece looks highly polished.

The detailed finger work is also effective for fine-motor rehabilitation.

Participants can take their creations home and enjoy displaying this seasonally themed craft.

A lifelike sunflower made with origami

Why not try making a sunflower out of origami that looks just like the real thing? All you need are yellow and brown origami paper, wire, tissue paper, and green floral tape.

First, cut the yellow origami into four equal squares and shape them into petals.

Next, cut the brown origami into thin strips and make fine slits along them.

Roll up the brown strips to create the sunflower’s center, then glue the petals onto a backing and attach the center to form the flower head.

Wrap tissue paper and green tape around the wire to make the stem, attach the flower, and you’ll have a sunflower that looks just like the real thing.

It’s full of summer charm, making it perfect as a gift or for room decor.
