[Age 4] Construction paper hanging decoration
@chooobo2 Perfect for the rainy season♪ Our ever-popular “Hanging Umbrella Decor ☂️💛.” The 3D spiraled shape gently sways when hung—super cute! ◆ Easy to make! Prepare 6–10 circles with a diameter of 10 cm, fold each in half, and glue them together. The video shows it made with 6 pieces, but increasing the number makes it fluffier and more voluminous! (You can change the size of the construction paper to make umbrellas in various sizes.) Here’s an idea for a hanging umbrella decoration made with construction paper and chenille stems (pipe cleaners).
Prepare six circles cut from construction paper and fold each one in half twice.
Stack and glue them together.
Attach a chenille stem as the handle, then open up the paper and shape it into an umbrella.
Make clouds and raindrops from construction paper and hang them with string along with the umbrella.
You can use a single color for the umbrella, but it’s also cute to prepare several colors of paper for a colorful finish.
It’s very easy, so give it a try!
Rainbow and a Raincoat
@chooobo2 Rainy season hanging craft ☂️♡ We made a rainbow and a raincoat 🌈 ◾️Rainbow (use half of a paper plate) 1) Cut origami paper with scissors and stick the pieces on with glue! (Perfect for practicing single snips with scissors! You can also tear the paper and paste it—both are great!) 2) Paint with three colors! It’s easy to paint in a curve by following the paper plate’s lines 🎨 Choose your three favorite colors to make your own original rainbow 🌈 ◾️Raincoat 1) Marble art (We rolled pink, orange, and white paint with marbles to make patterns!) 2) Sponge stamping Dab paint onto a sponge and stamp away! (This time we used pink, red, and white. The colors blend beautifully!) Add a self-portrait to finish it off 👦👧🖍️ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ Once the rainbow and raincoat are done, attach them to a string to make a hanging decoration! Add some raindrops too for an even cuter rainy-season vibe ♪ This craft is for preschoolers! When we think of the rainy season, it may seem like the negatives—“it’s damp and muggy,” “you can’t play outside,” and so on—outweigh the positives.
But rainy days also have their perks: you get to wear a cute raincoat, and when the rain lets up, you might even see a rainbow.
So here’s a suggestion: make a hanging craft featuring a rainbow and a raincoat.
You can freely choose the colors of the rainbow and customize the raincoat to be colorful, so the creative possibilities are endless! Rolling paint-covered marbles inside a box to create fascinating patterns also sounds fun.
If you can prepare plenty of boxes, definitely give it a try.
Swaying Creation

Things that sway gently—lately, I feel like there are more seasonal advertising pop-ups hanging from the ceilings in supermarkets and convenience stores.
Not only children but adults will find their eyes drawn to them.
Making a gently swaying craft like that sounds fun too.
If you imagine a small mobile, the creation process should go smoothly.
For the hanging pieces, don’t just draw illustrations on paper—using cellophane or metallic gold and silver paper could spark even more imagination! Using yarn for the hanging thread will make it colorful as well.
Be sure to include motifs that evoke June, like hydrangeas and snails!
Let’s draw a picture using rain.

Rain during water play or swimming makes children look even more delighted.
Maybe it’s that sense of invincibility that comes from thinking, “It’s okay to get wet.” It can also be fun to create using the properties of pens—oil-based pens don’t bleed in water, while water-based pens do.
That opens up lots of inventive ways to plan in reverse: “It’s okay if this part bleeds a bit,” or “I don’t want this section to bleed.” You could even wait for a rainy day and let it actually get wet.
If you’re thinking about health considerations, a spray bottle or watering can is a good substitute.
Paper Plate Umbrella Decoration Made with Paint

Let’s make colorful, pop-style umbrellas using paper plates.
The process is super simple! Start by painting the paper plate with your favorite colors.
Try incorporating techniques like finger painting, resist painting, or stamping—whatever you like.
Once you’ve painted it, cut the paper plate in half.
You can leave the edge as is, but it’s also fun to cut the rim into zigzags or wavy shapes.
Finally, roll each cut half into a cone shape, and insert a pipe cleaner—bent into an umbrella handle—through the center to finish.
A nice bonus is that one paper plate makes two umbrellas.
Display your lively, unique umbrella creations by the window or around the room to brighten up your space!
Hanging umbrella

An essential companion you can’t do without during the rainy season: the umbrella.
Rainy days can make the sky dark and gloomy, but seeing a lot of colorful umbrellas opened up can really lift your spirits.
Here’s a craft idea for a hanging decoration with an umbrella theme.
Since it’s a hanging piece, making it three-dimensional will give it a striking presence.
Try layering several sheets of construction paper to achieve a 3D finish! It’s also great to hang them from the ceiling like a mobile, or string them in a horizontal line like a garland.
Handprint snail
During the rainy season, you’ll have more chances to spot snails in places like the playground, right? How about drawing snails using handprints! One method is to prepare the parts other than the shell with construction paper and stamp the handprint for the shell.
You can also get creative with the handprint placement and make the body from a handprint as another option.
If the teacher uses their hand, you’ll get a larger snail, but it’s also recommended to have the children help a little and use their own handprints to make snails for wall decorations.
Try creating a lively piece where the snails happily crawl along!
