Songs with titles starting with “Ka” (171–180)

Monument of SorrowMinamino Yoko

A classic song that vividly reflects the world of the drama Sukeban Deka II: The Legend of the Girl in the Iron Mask, singing of a fighting heroine’s loneliness and resolve.

Starring Yoko Minamino, it was released as a single in March 1986, which helped propel her toward top-idol status, and it is also included on her first album, Gelato.

The lyrics, which convey the strength to face forward even while carrying pain in one’s heart, embody the very aesthetics of tsuppari (rebellious spirit).

It’s sure to encourage not only the generation that was enthralled by the drama, but also anyone today who is trying to stand up to a challenge.

It’s a song that wraps the preciousness of everyday life—both ordinary and miraculous—in a warm singing voice.

Released as an advance single in October 2021, it became the title track of Takaya Kawasaki’s self-titled album “Calendar.” It conveys unwavering love for a partner who has gone from lover to family, and resonated so widely that it reached 1.8 million streams in about a month after release.

Looking back on memories with someone you’ve grown apart from, if you could start over, wouldn’t you fervently wish to cherish the simple moments of laughing side by side, without anything special? It’s a track we recommend to anyone who wants to imagine a calm, happy future beyond reconciliation.

Released in August 2025, this work was produced as the opening theme for the TV anime One Piece.

It’s also the band’s first anime tie-in, made possible because vocalist Takeshi Hosomi is a huge fan of the original manga.

True to their style, the track features a rugged, high-energy sound.

It’s sure to resonate with students worn out from chasing their dreams every day and those who’ve faced frustration in their clubs.

A powerful number that gives you the courage to believe in yourself and push forward—don’t miss it.

Shadow-colored DanceMyGO!!!!!

MyGO!!!!! is a rock band that emerged from the multimedia project BanG Dream!.

Among their repertoire, the track I’d especially recommend as a danceable number that makes you want to move is this one, included on their single “Otoichie,” released in April 2023.

Its lively four-on-the-floor beat blends with vocalist Tomori Takamatsu’s delicate yet resolute singing, making it perfect as background music for work—you’ll find your pen won’t stop.

It was also added to the game “BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!” in September 2023 and has become beloved by many fans.

It’s an ideal song for anyone who wants a rhythmic refresh between study sessions or to boost efficiency during simple tasks.

There are moments when you suddenly want to slip out of reality and go somewhere far away, right? This is the track I want you to listen to at times like that—a song by Yorushika, beloved for its literary worldview.

Released digitally in May 2025, it was written as the opening theme for the second season of the TV anime Little Citizens Series.

Centered on the aspirational destination of “Mars,” the lyrics quote poems by Hakushu Hagiwara, and suis’s translucent vocals sink deep into your heart.

n-buna’s meticulous guitar arrangements and comfortable groove also make it excellent as background music for work.

When your studying or work grinds to a halt, why not take a short trip into this song’s world and refresh yourself? It’s also great for nights when you want to boost your focus.

Cafe LatteIkuta Rira

Singer-songwriter Rira Ikuta, who is also globally popular as YOASOBI’s vocalist ikura.

Many people may feel her songs tend to be difficult and hesitate to sing them, right? That’s why I recommend this track from her album “Laugh,” released in December 2025.

Created as an insert song for the Korean drama “Tomorrow Will Surely Come,” it features lyrics that overlay everyday feelings of love with the warmth of a café latte, blending comfortably into a medium-tempo sound.

The vocal range isn’t too wide and there are no intense jumps into high notes, so if you relax and ride the rhythm, you should be able to sing it naturally.

It’s a down-to-earth love song you’ll want to sing gently, filled with feelings for someone you care about.

UNISON SQUARE GARDEN – kaleido proud fiesta / THE FIRST TAKE

Hailing from Scarsdale, New York, Kousuke Saito is the guitarist-vocalist of UNISON SQUARE GARDEN.

Their signature songs include “Trace of Orion (Orion wo Nazoru)” and “Sugar Song and Bitter Step.” On the official UNISON site, his vocals are described as “overflowing with transparency yet possessing a distinctive edge.” In fact, Saito underwent vocal cord polyp surgery in 2014, and it’s said that it helped improve the stability of his high notes.

His singing is cool and sleek, with a truly beautiful extension into high registers that can be challenging even for many female singers.

As a singing guitarist, his performance level is outstanding—he plays highly complex guitar phrases while singing, delivering a wall of sound you wouldn’t expect from a three-piece band.

He also collaborated with Leo Ieiri in 2025, and their vocals were absolutely overwhelming.
