Known as one of Yūkadan’s signature works, this song depicts the everyday life of a woman working as a building cleaner.
Despite low pay and harsh working conditions, the protagonist keeps cherishing her dream of “wearing cute panties,” a sentiment delivered with plenty of humor.
Released in October 1975 as their debut single, it sparked controversy and was even banned from broadcast for being considered “occupationally discriminatory.” Atsuki Kimura’s gravelly vocals and Kantaro Uchida’s bluesy guitar lend the track a distinctive depth.

A classic song set in Osaka that sings of a bittersweet love.
The lyrics, woven with regional dialect, stir a sense of nostalgia.
The feelings of a woman reflecting on memories with a former lover are expressed through a warm, heartfelt vocal.
Released in December 2011, the track is included on Aya Matsuura’s best-of album “Aya Matsuura 10TH ANNIVERSARY BEST,” commemorating the 10th anniversary of her career.
It was also used as the theme song for the ABC Asahi Broadcasting drama “Sakura to Satsuki,” which aired in April of the same year.

SHINGO★Nishinari, a rapper from Nishinari in Osaka.
His lyrics, full of love for his hometown, really hit home.
The flow over the jazzy track feels great! You hear lots of lines that could only come from someone who’s weathered some rough waters.
It’s fine.Urufuruzu

This is Ulfuls’ 25th single, released in 2003.
It’s also an encouraging song that affirms everyone who’s feeling lost.
Tortoise Matsumoto’s powerful vocals and Kansai dialect hit you right in the heart.

I’m counting on you.KinKi Kids

Kinki Kids is a duo from the Kansai region, and as you’d expect, they’ve released songs in the Kansai dialect.
When I thought one of their songs sounded like Shizuko Kasagi’s “Shopping Boogie,” it turns out the original was indeed sung by Shizuko Kasagi.
The lyrics were written by Minawo Yoshida, and the music was composed by Ryoichi Hattori.
