How’s business?B’z

I can’t believe B’z released a song in Osaka dialect…

Since Koshi Inaba is from Okayama Prefecture, is he relatively familiar with the Osaka dialect? It’s included on the album “The 7th Blues,” released in 1994.

The comical lyrics are really amusing.

I knew it—I love you.yashiki takajin

When it comes to songs about Osaka or songs in Kansai dialect, isn’t this the one many people think of? Released in 1986 as the 13th single, it’s also one of Takajin Yashiki’s signature songs.

You often see various musicians performing it on TV shows, don’t you?

EmergencyRED SPIDER

RED SPIDER - State of Emergency feat. MINMI, HAN-KUN, KENTY GROSS, SINGO☆Nishinari, CHEHON, NG HEAD
EmergencyRED SPIDER

A lavish track featuring RED SPIDER, active out of Osaka, with guest appearances by Kansai’s leading hip-hop and reggae artists like MINMI, Shonan no Kaze’s HAN-KUN, KENTY GROSS, SINGO☆Nishinari, CHEHON, and NG HEAD.

Since they’re all from the Kansai region, the Kansai dialect fits perfectly.

LOVE 4 REALSakura

It’s a love song sung from a woman’s perspective in Kansai dialect.

The Kansai-dialect lines are unusually cute, and the rap is on point.

The contemporary Black music vibe makes it an irresistibly cool track.

It was released in 2003.

Hamburger shopKamon Tatsuo

This is a comedic song by Tatsuwo Kamon that turns the by-the-manual responses of a hamburger shop into laughs.

The exchange between a clerk speaking standard Japanese and a man speaking thick Kansai dialect is funny, and the vibe—parodying Alice’s “Fuyu no Inazuma” and “Champion”—also makes you chuckle.

Are you messing with me?yashiki takajin

Like “Yappa Suki Yanen,” this song is in Kansai dialect and is especially emblematic of Osaka.

Released in 1990, it was Takajin Yashiki’s 18th single.

Sung from a woman’s perspective who can’t give up on a no-good man, it’s a sad love song.

“Dotonbori Ninjō” is a song with lyrics by Kaoru Wakayama and music by Toshiaki Yamada.

It was first included on Goro Kagami’s original album in 1984.

Later, from 1985 to 1986, many singers covered it, including Yoshimi Tendo and Noriko Sugata.

Yoshimi Tendo’s version may be the most popular.
