[Christmas Songs] Christmas songs to sing with children (71–80)
By now, Santa

Here’s a great BGM recommendation for when you’re getting ready for Christmas—decorating your room or baking a cake: the song “Santa Claus Right About Now.” It’s a tune featured on the children’s show “Okaasan to Issho,” and it imagines what Santa might be doing in the days leading up to Christmas.
In the song, he’s washing his Santa suit, making the sack for presents, and eagerly waiting to meet all the children.
It’s also fun to let your imagination run beyond the lyrics and think, “Maybe he’s actually doing this, too?”
The Snow Lay on the Ground

It’s a Christmas carol that has been passed down since around the 19th century, known in Japan as “Yuki wa Tsumori.” The song celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ amid falling, accumulating snow—perfect for a white Christmas.
Be sure to listen to it with your children.
Santa Claus is mysterious.

“Santa Claus Is So Mysterious” is a song born from the feeling that Santa is full of wonders.
Questions like “Since when did Santa grow such a magnificent beard?” and “When did he start wearing bright red clothes?” are answered with a still-slightly-mysterious reply: “He’s been that way since long, long ago.” Even after that, questions about Santa keep bubbling up until the song ends.
There’s a rapid-fire section in the middle that should be really fun to sing! As you sing, try thinking about the parts of Santa you find mysterious, and enjoy yourself.
Angel’s PrayerAiM

This is a song that was featured as an insert track in the anime Digimon Adventure.
Some parents from the Digimon generation might have heard it.
With its gentle, whisper-like vocals, it’s an easy listen and recommended even for those who don’t know Digimon.
I Saw Three ShipsBlackmore’s Night

A song that lets you share the joy of Christmas with children.
Warm guitars and dreamy vocals deliver plenty of Christmas magic.
The lyrics, which sing about three ships sailing toward Bethlehem, gently convey the miracle of Christmas.
Sing it together with your kids, and it will surely become a wonderful memory.
It’s also perfect as background music for a Christmas party! If everyone sings and dances, the venue is sure to become even more festive.
