[Childcare] Fun Halloween activities: Halloween games that are a big hit at parties (1–10)

[Dance] Hahaha, Halloween!Tsubasa Suzuki

“Hahahahaha Halloween” is a fun song featuring classic Halloween spooks like witches and werewolves.

Its slightly eerie yet humorous vibe will surely boost the Halloween mood! With no complicated choreography, even little kids can join in and dance along.

You can’t help but smile watching children fully get into character as little ghosts.

Of course, it’s also great for adults to dance to with full enthusiasm! It would be fun to make costumes of your favorite spooky characters and dance in them, too.

Ghost Slide

With just a toilet paper roll core and some string, you can make a “Ghost Slide,” a game that lets kids move their bodies plenty even indoors.

For setup, tape strings in various places around the room.

When attaching them at different heights, thread a toilet paper roll decorated like a ghost onto each string.

If you let go of the roll on the string, the ghost will slide down like a slide.

Make sure to check for safety as you prepare, since densely placed strings can cause children to get tangled.

Ghost Fishing Game

The ghost fishing game is a Halloween party classic.

Just draw ghost faces on paper cups, attach some twine, and hang them up—ready to play! Kids use fishing rods to catch the gently swaying ghosts.

If you put candy or small toys inside the ghosts, the excitement when they catch one is even greater.

Prepare lots of ghosts and it’ll look like a whole ghost horde is coming at you.

This lively game is perfect for Halloween events at nurseries and kindergartens, and it’s also fun to make the ghosts together with your child.

Pick pumpkins and collect ribbons!

Hang pumpkin zip bags under a low table to create a game you can enjoy with the feel of fruit picking! Put cute ribbons inside the zip bags.

If you prepare a few different colors, you can have fun chatting—“What color will it be this time?”—as you play.

Using a low table also turns it into a crawl-under activity, adding an extra sense of excitement.

Be sure to adjust the ribbons’ shapes and sizes so they’re safe for children to touch.

Spider web play

Let’s play a spiderweb game using OPP tape and masking tape.

Inside your home, look for a space where you can cover a whole surface with OPP tape.

The gap created by opening the door of a room you don’t use often might work well.

Stick the OPP tape with the sticky side facing outward in a spiderweb pattern, then apply the masking tape in the same way.

Now toss small colored balls or pom-poms—when they stick to the tape with a satisfying plop, the game is ready! Gather everyone and have fun together.

“Hungry Ghost,” a cute story in which a ravenous little ghost takes food out of the fridge and eats it on its own, lets you arrange the foods any way you like.

If you tailor it to the participating children’s preferences, it will be even more exciting.

[Craft] Paper Cup Ghost

How to Make a Paper Cup Ghost: Easy Pop-Out Toy Craft for Preschool Teachers and Kids (Ages 4+)
[Craft] Paper Cup Ghost

The paper cup ghost is a toy you can make at home using a paper cup, a plastic bag, markers or stickers for decoration, and a straw.

First, draw a ghost freely on the plastic bag.

Decorate the paper cup with markers and stickers as well.

An adult should poke a hole in the paper cup, thread the straw through, and attach the plastic bag to the top of the cup.

Be sure to seal it so no air leaks.

When you blow gently through the straw, the ghost stands up—your fun toy is complete!
