Gustav Lange, a Romantic composer born in Germany in 1830, left behind more than 400 salon pieces for solo piano over the course of his life.

His signature works, Flower Song and Rose of the Wilderness, are included in many beginner-level piano method books and are very popular choices for recital pieces.
