On nights when cherry blossoms fallaimyon

It’s Aimyon’s second digital-only single, released in February 2021.
The melody and tempo flow very gently, so it should be easy for just about anyone to sing.
The only tricky part is the B-melody, where there’s a section that needs to be sung a bit fast.
When you actually sing it, be careful not to rush the rhythm there—stay true to the tempo and groove.
The key isn’t very high, so even women with lower voices should be able to sing it in the original key without any problem.
However, if you do sing in the original key, practice smoothly switching into falsetto in the parts where it appears.
Unraveling Love ~A Little Courage~Kuraki Mai

This is the 15th digital-only single by Mai Kuraki, released in October 2023.
It was selected as the opening theme for the anime Detective Conan.
Kuraki, who debuted at age 17 in 1999 and earned high praise for her vocal ability, delivers an even more mature performance in this track, released roughly a quarter century after her debut.
Her singing showcases a richly resonant, captivating lower-to-mid register.
I especially recommend women who are strong in the lower range try recreating this deep, resonant vocal at karaoke.
The track features a distinctive four-on-the-floor beat, so it’s best to feel that accent clearly and sing with an overall light touch.
StarsNakajima Mika

Mika Nakashima’s debut single, released on November 7, 2001.
It was used as the theme song for the Kansai TV/Fuji TV drama “Scarred Love Song.” It’s a quiet ballad, but you can enjoy some very passionate vocals in the chorus.
Mika Nakashima herself has a wonderfully rich voice with plenty of low overtones, so it’s a great song for women with lower voices to try at karaoke.
That said, the melody does include quite a few high notes.
As Mika does in the track, make good use of falsetto when you sing.
Whether you can switch smoothly between registers will make or break how good this song sounds.
If you’re not confident with register transitions, try lowering the key at karaoke.
BreakUru

Uru’s ninth single, and the ending theme for the TV anime Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon.
Uru is known for her soothing voice, and that charm is fully showcased in this song as well; in the A-melody sections sung in a lower range, you can enjoy a uniquely sultry vocal quality.
While the song doesn’t feature piercing high belts in chest voice, mastering it properly requires proficiency in falsetto, which is used frequently in the chorus and other parts.
That aspect may pose a slightly higher hurdle for women who struggle with high notes.
Practice switching smoothly between vocal techniques and give it a try.
LOOPupiko

Upiko is a female singer-songwriter who is often hailed as a successor to Miyuki Nakajima.
She has a voice quality similar to Nakajima’s, and her growling low-register delivery is especially striking.
Among her works, the one I particularly recommend for women with lower voices is LOOP.
While this piece has a slight rock flavor, its range is modest and it stays mostly in the low-mid to mid register throughout.
The rhythm is easy to follow, making it a song that even those who aren’t confident singers can comfortably perform.
The wind is blowing.ikimonogakari

This is Ikimono-gakari’s 24th single, released in July 2008.
It’s one of their signature songs, known for its slightly poignant melody.
In terms of vocal range, it should fall comfortably within a range that most women can sing without strain.
The melody is also very easy to sing and remember, so even those who don’t sing often should be fine.
Try to listen carefully to the karaoke drum track and avoid letting the vocal rhythm rush ahead.
Also, practice singing the high notes with an open, relaxed tone, doing your best not to tighten your throat.

Don’t give upZARD

ZARD’s sixth single overall, released in January 1993.
Not just this song—ZARD’s run of hits and late-’80s to early-’90s J-POP in general are a treasure trove of songs that many people can sing at karaoke without strain! Back then, how often a song was sung at karaoke had a huge impact on CD sales.
So feel free to pick it at karaoke and have fun.
I think most women can sing it without changing the key!
