Women Artists (251–260)
wailing in griefKudō Shizuka

Shizuka Kudo’s classic song “Dōkoku.” While Shizuka Kudo sometimes showcases an intense vocal style depending on the song, she is actually an artist with a very limited vocal range.
Among her works, this piece in particular has a notably narrow range.
Even the highest notes sit around the boundary between the middle and upper-middle register, and they appear only briefly.
In addition, the melodic movement is very gentle, so for women with lower voices, it’s actually an easy song to sing.
It’s also a big hit at karaoke, so consider adding it to your repertoire.
Female Artists (261–270)
Deceptive Lovetuki.

Singer-songwriter tuki., whose true identity remains unknown, has amassed tremendous popularity among young women.
Many of you have probably sung one of her songs at least once.
Among her tracks, the one I especially recommend is Damashi-ai.
The chorus of this piece—marked by its serious melody—is primarily built around low-mid to mid range vocals.
Because the pitch movement isn’t too drastic, it can be sung in a voice close to natural speech.
IKIZAMAEast Of Eden

East Of Eden is a girls’ rock band formed in 2023.
Even among Japan’s all-female rock bands, they boast a notably high level of musicianship and have earned strong praise from hardcore Japanese rock aficionados.
Of all their songs, the one I especially recommend is IKIZAMA.
It’s orthodox rock, but it stands out for its intense sound with a hint of hard rock flavor.
While the track’s appeal lies in its sharp, powerful vocals, the range is surprisingly compact.
For women with lower voices that have richness in the midrange, this song can really bring out their strengths.
Last live showBurandē Senki

Brandy Senki’s new track “Last Live.” Brandy Senki is known for a rock foundation blended with Black music influences like jazz and funk, but this piece is unusually crafted as straight-ahead, classic rock.
The guitar riff, which evokes a sense of delicacy, is particularly striking.
While the song doesn’t have a narrow vocal range, the high phrases appear only briefly, and the core sits mostly in the low to mid register.
Since the chorus is especially low, it’s an ideal pick for women with lower voices.
I don’t need wings.AKB48

Released in 2016 with Mion Mukaichi as the center, “Tsubasa wa Iranai.” It’s a charming song with gentle, hope-inspiring lyrics set to a melody that feels nostalgic.
It also has a slight folk-song vibe, making it a karaoke choice that even older listeners who aren’t familiar with AKB48 might enjoy.
With a relaxed tempo and a relatively low vocal range, it rarely goes into high notes, so it’s easy to sing for women with lower voices.
SCOPEAimer

Aimer is a female singer-songwriter known for her distinctive husky voice.
Because she’s an artist whose lower register is also appealing, many women with low voices may already have her songs in their repertoire.
Among Aimer’s tracks, I especially recommend “SCOPE.” While it has a strong rock character, its vocal range is surprisingly narrow, and even the chorus stays within the lower-mid to mid range.
There aren’t any complex pitch jumps either, so consider adding it to your repertoire.
Dear My FriendEvery Little Thing

When it comes to singing this song, the tempo sits in a comfortable medium-to-upbeat range, and the melodic range isn’t very wide, so I think even those who aren’t confident singers will find it easy to sing.
However, there are a few spots in the D section that require some higher notes, and the final chorus modulates and goes up in key, so please be careful with the karaoke key settings.
Overall, as long as you keep a good groove and avoid dragging the rhythm, you’ll be fine!
