Karaoke for Beginners, No Worries! Easy Songs for Men to Sing (71–80)

turquoiseSEKAI NO OWARI

This is SEKAI NO OWARI’s 17th major-label single, released in April 2023.

It was chosen as the theme song for Kirin’s “Hyoketsu.” Fukase, the vocalist of SEKAI NO OWARI, is a singer known for his boyish, high voice, so some listeners might recoil at first and think, “There’s no way I can sing something this high!” However, if you listen closely, you’ll find that the vocal melody doesn’t actually span a very wide range.

So please set aside any preconceptions and give it a try—you’ll likely find you can sing it quite casually, almost like humming along.

If you place the sound in your mouth as if you’re directing it toward the upper palate, you’ll enhance the higher overtones in your voice, bringing it closer to the feel of the original track.

Give it a try!

Bitter VacationMrs. GREEN APPLE

Bitter VacationMrs. GREEN APPLE

Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s new song “Bitter Vacation.” Many people think of their songs as featuring lots of high notes and being very difficult.

However, this one is different.

For their catalog, the vocal range is relatively narrow, and the vocal lines aren’t that demanding.

That said, the mid-to-high range still appears as a matter of course, so it may be tough for those who can’t hit higher notes at all.

It goes over well at karaoke, and among Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s songs it’s relatively easy to sing, so consider adding it to your repertoire.

Fukuwarai (a traditional Japanese “lucky laugh” face-making game)Takahashi Yuu

Takahashi Yu is popular for his distinctive melodies and straightforward lyrics.

Fukuwarai, with its easy-to-sing style, is a song I’d recommend for men when they’re unsure what to sing at karaoke.

You don’t need to belt it out, and the rhythm is easy to catch, so with a little practice you might be able to sing it right away.

Its catchy melody makes it easy to get everyone involved as you sing.

A strong ally for men at karaoke—that’s Takahashi Yu.

Kobukurotsubomi

Kobukuro’s 14th single, released in March 2007.

It’s a very beautiful acoustic ballad, and I think the difficulty is quite high if you try to express it seriously and sing it with full nuance.

However, the melody is very gentle, the tempo is slow, and there aren’t any parts where the lyrics are crammed in at a rapid pace, so if you’re just tracing the melody and lyrics at karaoke, I think it’s relatively easy to sing.

In that sense, it’s a song with great depth.

Some people may find the key a bit high, so it’s a good idea to check the key setting in advance.

ff (fortissimo)HOUND DOG

The 10th single by the Japanese rock band HOUND DOG, released in August 1985.

It was used as a commercial song for Nissin Foods’ Cup Noodles.

It’s a medium-tempo rock number with a strongly heroic atmosphere throughout! The vocal melody is very simple, and the range used isn’t very wide, so even those who aren’t confident singers can enjoy singing it casually.

Feel the beat of the backing track firmly, and, just as the title suggests, sing out with power and enjoy it.

All of the YouthFujifaburikku

Fuji Fabric’s 10th single, released in November 2007.

The original key might be a bit high for the average male singer, but the melody doesn’t have a lot of ups and downs throughout, and the tempo is a comfortable medium, making it quite singable.

So even men who aren’t very confident in their singing should find it easy to take on.

Just remember to adjust the initial key to suit your vocal range.

To avoid pushing the rhythm ahead, it’s better to sing slightly laid-back rather than rushing—this will make it sound nicer.

OrangeSPYAIR

SPYAIR “Orange” Music Video (Theme Song for Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle: The Movie)
OrangeSPYAIR

SPYAIR is a rock band with a sharp, cutting sound that has won strong support from younger generations.

Their crisp, articulate vocals are a hallmark of SPYAIR, which might make many people think their songs are hard to sing.

For those people, we recommend Orange.

While it’s an expansive, dynamic track that showcases SPYAIR’s signature punch, the vocal range is relatively narrow.

There’s a brief use of falsetto once in the latter half of the chorus, but if that part feels tough, try singing it in chest voice.

The falsetto is low and appears only for a split second, so you should be able to handle it just fine with your natural voice.
