Archimedes
Archimedes made many mathematical discoveries, and among them his most famous is the calculation of pi. He used regular polygons inscribed in and circumscribed around a circle to compute pi. With this method, he was the first to show that pi is a value very close to 3.14. Therefore, Archimedes is regarded as the first person to derive pi through calculation.
