April Music Festivals [2026]: A roundup of spring festivals, outdoor rock fests, and other music events

This music festival began in 2005 as part of the Japan-Korea Friendship Year commemorative projects and has since been held every spring around Kawasaki Station. Making the most of Kawasaki’s unique character as a place where cultures from across Asia coexist, it features two days of folk music and dance, as well as live concerts by musicians based in Kawasaki. Visitors can get up close to music and instruments they rarely encounter, and the Asian Festa—where foods from various countries can be enjoyed—is held at the same time. The 2026 edition will take place in April.

AWAJI PARKING FESTIVAL vol.3 is a cultural event that guides people to a paradise from the open seashore of Awaji Island. The venue is Taga-no-hama Beach in Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, and it’s a one-day event where live music, DJs, food, and art intersect. For the Special Live, YOUTH OF ROOTS—one of Japan’s leading reggae bands—will perform, creating a relaxed, unhurried time away from the busyness of everyday life. Scheduled for April 2026.
