When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

BOTAFES is a plant-inspired music and culture festival held in the Hosokawa area of Ikeda, Osaka. Paying homage to the region’s history as a hub for ornamental plant cultivation since the Muromachi period, it embraces the concept of “Ueki (potted plant) Culture × Festival.” A rich array of lifestyle-adjacent cultures—music, art, fashion, food, and design—gathers under the theme of plants, creating a day to experience coexistence with nature. Jamaica Festival Reggae & Cuisine is a free outdoor festival themed “A Day to Feel Jamaica.” The venue is Taiyo-no-Hiroba in Osaka Castle Park. Enjoy DJ and singer performances on a reggae sound system, a Jerk Chicken Fest gathering renowned jerk chicken shops from across Japan, plus a market and workshops featuring Jamaican food.
