Spring music festival to be held in western Japan [2026]

“Spica Fes 2026” is a music event featuring the SAYO MUSIC & DANCE STAGE with eight artist groups active in and around Sayo Town. The venue is the outdoor special stage at the Star Shower Forest Music Hall (Spica Hall) in Sayo, offering an open, lawn-seating atmosphere. A diverse range of genres—including folk, bands, and dance—will gather, and food trucks will be on-site to heighten the festival vibe. Admission is free, and the event will be held on May 31, 2026.

Symphonic Starmine is a co-creative live art festival where fireworks and music merge, set on Karasuma Peninsula in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Inheriting the legacy of the “Lake Biwa Otsu Night Cruise Fireworks,” it paints a symphony of light and sound along the shores of Lake Biwa. Fireworks synchronize with a wide range of music—from film scores to J-POP—while live performances by Nijiiro Samurai Zuma and Jacob Koller, together with a 1,000-person chorus, illuminate the night sky. Scheduled for May 2026.

“BUILD FEST.” is a music event launched in 2025 by eleven home-building companies in Shiga Prefecture as a gesture of gratitude to the local community. Set against the backdrop of Kojinyama Park in Hikone, it centers on moments that bring people together through soothing music, delicious food, and a lively market. Alongside performances by local artists and dance studios, special guest live acts add flair, creating a family-friendly atmosphere you can enjoy all day. Scheduled for May 2026, it’s a community-focused festival with free admission.
