Tottori JazzTottori Prefecture, Tue 4/28–Sat 5/2

Tottori JAZZ is a signature jazz festival of Tottori Prefecture that began in 2011 and will celebrate its 16th edition in 2026. With the concept of “Coloring the city with jazz and art,” it has been embraced as a citywide event that turns various locations around Tottori City into stages, blending live performances with open-call artworks. Run by an organizing committee led by local musicians and students, it has become established as a venue that nurtures the region’s musical culture. The 2026 festival will be held from late April to early May.

VIVA! Backstage Wonderland FestivalSun, 4/26 – Kochi Prefecture

“VIVA! Ura Wonderland Festival” is an open-air music event that brings together musicians from across Kochi Prefecture. The venue is the RYOMA YUME HIROBA stage at Umi no Terrace in Katsurahama Park, where powerful band performances will unfold. There will also be a section where everyone can dance and experience Kochi’s signature “Yosakoi,” making for a day rich with local flavor. It will be held on a Sunday in April 2026.

Idol Kochi FestSun, 4/26 – Kochi Prefecture

“Idol Hatsugatsuo Festival Kochi Main Fest 2026” is one of the twice-yearly Kochi-born events in the “IDOL Katsuo Tataki Fest” series, organized by the Umami Components Research Society. Set at BAY5SQUARE in Kochi City, it’s a local idol festival with sister events such as the Osaka Business Trip Tataki Fest and Mikan no Rokurou. A diverse lineup including LØISLOID, lonlium, and Narukami gathers to showcase the region’s charm through unique programs centered on the symbol of skipjack tuna. The main festival in April 2026 will turn up the heat.

E Komo Mai Hawaii FestivalWakayama Prefecture, Sun. 4/26

The E Komo Mai Hawaii Festival in Wakayama is the first Hawaiian celebration in the area where visitors can enjoy hula, Hawaiian music, and gourmet food at the Michi-no-Eki Shikinosato Park in Wakayama City. “E komo mai” means “welcome” in Hawaiian, and the festival’s concept is to help people become familiar with Hawaiian culture. Hula, Tahitian dance, and ukulele performances will be showcased on the Shiki Plaza and the front-entrance stages, and there will be kitchen cars and food booths as well. In 2026, the event will be held on April 26.
