[2026] Summary of Idol Groups from Nagoya

Japanese idols have now become one of the country’s proud cultural exports, and countless idol groups are active across Japan.

Alongside major idol groups known by the entire nation, there are also many lesser-known groups, such as underground idols and local, region-specific idols.

Among them, there is an especially large number of idol groups based in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.

In this article, we’ll introduce, all at once and spanning both past and present, groups that were formed in Nagoya or are active with Nagoya as their home base.

You just might discover a new group to stan.

[2026] Nagoya-Origin Idol Groups Roundup (21–30)

A Flower in the HeartSKE48

SKE48, Nagoya’s leading idol group with an unshakable presence.

With Jurina Matsui and Rena Matsui as the “Double Matsui,” they defined an era and appeared numerous times on the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen.

They have many big hits like “Pareo wa Emerald” and “Kiss Datte Hidarikiki.” Even after the Double Matsui left, the group continued to stand out within the 48 family led by Akari Suda—but it was recently announced that Suda-san will be graduating from the group… It’s sad.

The trainee stage show “We’re Growing Up” has earned high praise, and talented performers are emerging one after another.

Incidentally, the previous trainee stage was “Seishun Girls.” Personally, I’m excited to see the success of the 9th generation members, including Mako Ohashi!

JOIN!! ~Parade~Shanimuni=Parēdo

Shanimini=Parade is a female idol group based in Nagoya.

They debuted in September 2020 and have been gaining attention with energetic songs that blend idol pop and J-pop.

Their music is characterized by upbeat, hype tracks that embody the group’s tagline: “Charging headlong through a pitch-black world to spark a festival frenzy.” In 2021, they made their major-label debut under FreeK-Laboratory and received high rankings on Oricon.

They actively distribute their music on platforms like YouTube and Spotify, reaching a wide range of fans.

They’re a great recommendation for anyone who wants to feel energized by bright, cheerful music.

Cleaning Unit CLEAR’S—and its Chubu region representative, Nagoya CLEAR’S.

Launched in 2011, CLEAR’S was created with the concept of volunteer activities, and its unique approach of combining “cleaning activities + idols” quickly caught on and spread nationwide.

Among them, I personally think Nagoya CLEAR’S is the most energetic in their activities.

Their current 13-member lineup also has great momentum! There’s even a rumor that if you listen to Tokai Radio’s “Midnight Special — Kinshachi Theater,” you’re guaranteed to become a fan.

I also really hope the currently inactive Osaka CLEAR’S and Yokohama CLEAR’S will resume their activities!

YA☆KKAIP-Loco

YA☆KKAIP-Loco

P-Loco is a powerhouse idol group with proven performance chops, having taken first place at the Sekigahara Idol Live Event and winning the Tokyo Candoll Chubu tournament.

They even won the nationwide selection for Japan’s biggest idol event, the Tokyo Idol Festival, so you could say they’re idols with national recognition! Members bursting with youthful energy include Aoi Noa, who’s in charge of white, and Airi Sato, who’s in charge of light blue.

By the way, P-Loco stands for Precious Loco, reflecting their desire to cherish and contribute to their local community.

They have lots of recommended songs, but if I had to pick just one, it would be “Gachi Koi Ningen Ota-kun”! Definitely check it out!

Full-throttle love at top speedNato☆Kan

A long-established idol group among long-established groups—one could say, “Don’t talk about Nagoya idols without knowing NatuCan.” With sold-out one-man shows, appearances on 24-Hour Television, and numerous spots on TV Aichi and Tokai TV, I’d say they’re already confidently a nationally recognized idol group.

Including Team A, Team B, and trainees, they currently number in the low teens, and of course there isn’t enough space to list all former members.

High-energy songs that scream ‘this is idol’—like ‘Full-Throttle Love Top Speed!’ and ‘SUN! SUN! Reflection!’—are guaranteed crowd-pleasers live.

For those feeling Ribon-loss after Ribon-chan’s graduation, Natu☆Can is only just getting started!

An unravelling-proof thrillDela

This is an idol group formed in 2012 with the concept of world exchange and community contribution, well known to the people of Nagoya.

Of course, “dela” comes from the Nagoya dialect word “dera” meaning “the best,” as well as from “deluxe.” In 2020, they were so popular that they ranked 4th in the “Local Idol Title Ranking.” They have many songs in the classic idol vein, so if you like the 48 groups, they will definitely be a perfect match for you! First, start by learning the names of all the members—there are quite a few! And believe it or not, Aika Sawaguchi was once a member of dela.

We hope they keep charging ahead with the spirit of catching up to and surpassing their great senior!

CHEReB (Cheruby) / Bouquet

A still very fresh idol group that just held their debut live on May 22, 2022.

Amazingly, their producer is Narumi Kawasaki, formerly of SKE48—I love Kawasaki’s famous “never-posted TikToks.” The group name CHEReB is pronounced “Sharebee.” Their debut song is by Keiji Tanabe, known for AKB48 hits, and their debut outfits are by Miyu Miyamoto, who also worked on 26ji no Masquerade’s costumes—their support lineup is rock solid.

They’re sure to spread their wings from the Tokai region to the entire country before long.

This is your chance to become an early, OG fan! Highly recommended if you haven’t found your oshi idol yet.
