No Woman, No CryDaitōjin
This is a cover of Bob Marley’s classic “No Woman, No Cry” in Uchināguchi (Okinawan).
The lyrics are completely different from the original and the song has been arranged as an Okinawan piece, which was extremely striking.
It is performed by three princesses from the Daitō Islands.
The curse is light blue.Omori Seiko
This is a song included on singer-songwriter Seiko Omori’s first album.
The lyrics hint at a theme of a man and woman who part ways in spring.
It’s a track I especially recommend to anyone who might find themselves in the same situation as they start a new chapter in life.
No problemtaiyozoku
One of the bands that led the youth punk scene, Taiyozoku.
Known for classics like Pride, Only You, and Firefly’s Love Song, Taiyozoku is especially memorable for lyrics that compare a freely flying paper airplane and encourage you with a “no problem.”

It’s a song about thinking of someone you love who lives far away.
On an autumn night, it makes you want to step out onto the balcony and listen while gazing up at the stars.
Even though the weather is said to be turning bad, the lyrics somehow don’t make you feel anxious—that’s what stands out.
It never even says “I want to see you,” yet that longing comes through.
The playful word choices, like the rhymes with “thunder” and “winter,” are wonderful.
Not Drunkyouen kingyo
Yoen Kingyo is an R&B/hip-hop duo highly acclaimed by Japan’s core black-music aficionados.
Their songs evoke 1990s and 2000s Western R&B, and their refined style has earned support in the underground scene as well.
Their classic “Not Drunk” exemplifies quality R&B.
While it doesn’t showcase flashy technique, the song is difficult enough that you can’t really sing it without a solid command of R&B fundamentals.
If you can perform it flawlessly, it will undoubtedly leave a cool, sophisticated impression.

Released in 1980, this song is included on Kodomo Band’s debut album “WE LOVE Kodomo Band,” and is considered their debut single since it appears as the first track.
Kodomo Band is a rock group fronted by Tsuyoshi Ujiki—now active as a TV personality and actor—who handles vocals and guitar; the band is said to have formed when he was in high school.
Known for its skillful guitar work, the song is also popular as a practice piece for improving guitar technique.
NobodyAmuro Namie
“Nobody,” written as a sequel to “White Light.” Reading the lyrics, it seems that unfortunately they broke up with the partner they were so in love with.
It pains the heart to see them reminiscing about this time last year, but it’s a bittersweet song that shows those were good memories.
