Newspaper Rock-Paper-Scissors & Balance Relay

[4-Year-Olds] Newspaper Rock-Paper-Scissors & Balance Relay
Newspaper Rock-Paper-Scissors & Balance Relay

Let’s have fun with a rock-paper-scissors game and a balance relay using newspaper.

The rock-paper-scissors game is played in pairs: after each round, the loser folds their sheet of newspaper.

The player who can no longer stand on their folded newspaper loses.

In the balance relay, you place a sheet of newspaper on your head and move along the course without dropping it.

Be careful—noticing that you want to pass the baton quickly and start running will make the newspaper fall.

Both are exciting ideas, so please enjoy them at the thank-you party.

Stand on stage with a few people holding microphones, and when the music starts, sing.

However, only one person on stage should actually sing; everyone else should just pretend to sing.

Have the audience guess who is really singing.

Since speaking voices and singing voices can sound different, they’ll need to listen carefully.

The singers can be teachers or children, and it might be fun to involve parents as well.

Choose songs that everyone knows, like nursery rhymes, and enjoy!

Newspaper Battle

Physical activity play to enhance children's motor skills: 8. Newspaper play (Newspaper Battle)
Newspaper Battle

First, roll up sheets of newspaper to make lots of newspaper balls in advance.

Split into two teams, and each team throws their own newspaper balls into the opponent’s territory.

Set a time limit, and when time is up, the team that has thrown more newspaper balls into the enemy territory wins.

Since both teams keep tossing balls into the opponent’s side, balls keep coming back into your own territory no matter how much you throw, making it a thrilling and exciting party game.

Rock-Paper-Scissors Train

Walk to the music, and when the music stops, play rock-paper-scissors with a nearby friend.

The loser lines up behind the winner, placing their hands on the winner’s shoulders to form a train.

Repeat this to make a long train, and the child who ends up at the front at the end is the winner.

First, stick out your right thumb and your left pinky.

Keeping that pose, sing the children’s song “Katatsumuri” and, in time with the rhythm, alternately switch the extended fingers between your hands.

You can adjust the difficulty by changing the singing speed, so once you get used to it, speeding up should make it even more exciting.

Let’s go ahead and press the button.

Let's go ahead and press the button.

Let’s have fun pressing buttons found everywhere—on clothes, around the house, and more! If you look around, you’ll be surprised how many places have buttons.

Try giving prompts like “Let’s press a button of this color,” and make it a game by specifying colors and shapes for even more enjoyment.

You can also deliberately place various buttons in different spots to play; that way, there’s no risk of pressing buttons that shouldn’t be pressed, so it’s safer.

It also sounds fun to investigate what kinds of buttons are around you!

Treasure Hunt Game

Set up many traffic cones and place treasures like balls or building blocks under some of them.

Split into teams and line up in single file; each person lifts one cone per turn to search for treasure.

By changing the points depending on the type of treasure, a dramatic comeback is possible, and tallying the scores is exciting and suspenseful!
