[Easy & Fun] Craft Ideas Using Pipe Cleaners (11–20)
Drawing at the mall
Here’s an idea: try making pictures using pipe cleaners.
You can buy them even at 100-yen shops—they’re very colorful and come in large packs.
Bend the colorful pipe cleaners into any shapes you like, trim off the excess, and stick them onto drawing paper.
For a start, arrange them loosely, then attach them with cellophane tape while checking the balance.
Even if you don’t use drawing paper, you can glue them onto a plastic board with a hot glue gun to make a simple signboard or display.
Sweets card stand

Let’s make a memo stand that expresses sweet, cute desserts using pipe cleaners! Roll two colors of pipe cleaners together to create the dessert; use white for one of them to represent whipped cream.
Align them so the white ends up slightly shorter, twist them into a spiral, and attach it to a wooden clip with wood glue.
Add a small decoration ball and a short green pipe cleaner on top to look like fruit perched on a Swiss roll, and it’s done.
Try making lots in different colors—they’d make great gifts, too.
A doll that can strike various poses

The great thing about pipe cleaners is that you can freely change their shape, right? Let’s use that advantage to make a doll with bendable joints! Besides pipe cleaners, you’ll need straws and beads.
Cut the straws into eight pieces: four for the legs and four for the arms.
Make the leg pieces 2 cm long and the arm pieces 1 cm long.
Twist two pipe cleaners together, thread on the straw pieces, and use beads to secure the joints and torso.
Finally, use the remaining pipe cleaner to make the face, and you’re done.
If you connect multiple pipe cleaners, you can make a larger doll, too.
Star ornament

Would you like to make a cute star-shaped ornament with pipe cleaners? First, twist together two different colors of pipe cleaners.
Once twisted, shape them into a triangle, and wrap the ends around the triangle so they don’t stick out.
Next, wrap another triangle of the same size in the opposite direction so it overlaps the first triangle.
Finally, attach a string for hanging, and you’re done.
Use red and green for a Christmas ornament, or choose other colors for everyday decorations.
Snowflake ornament

Would you like to make beautiful snowflakes using pipe cleaners? Take three pipe cleaners, twist them together at the center to make six arms, then spread them out and thread on beads in the colors you like.
Tuck the ends back into the beads to secure them.
Shape it neatly and you’re done.
Even without beads, it’s easy to form the snowflake shape with just pipe cleaners, which also keeps the materials to a minimum—highly recommended.
They look adorable as Christmas tree ornaments or winter decorations.
Classic snowflakes in white, blue, or light blue are great, but feel free to use your favorite colors and get creative!
