Brasília

Brazil’s official capital is Brasília. While Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo are more famous, the capital was moved from Rio de Janeiro in 1960 and built as a newly planned city. Brasília is located in the central part of Brazil and houses a concentration of government institutions.
