Japanese Reggae Popularity Ranking [2026] (21–30)
Flowers blooming in the night skyMEGARYU22rank/position

MEGARYU is a popular reggae duo with nationwide recognition.
While they are primarily a reggae duo, they originally included the R&B singer HITOMI, and perhaps due to that influence, you can also feel elements of R&B and other Black music.
Among their many love songs, one that gained particular popularity is “Yozora ni Saku Hana” (Flowers Blooming in the Night Sky).
Released in 2005, the song won fans across the country with its romantic lyrics pledging eternal love and its catchy melody.
lion cubSPINNA B-ILL23rank/position

This song carries a powerful message about living strong.
Released in July 2004 by Spinna B-ILL & The Cavemans, it’s characterized by a unique sound that fuses reggae, soul, and funk.
Comparing oneself to a lion’s cub, the lyrics celebrate the courage to face hardship and the importance of standing up for justice.
Performed at music festivals like Fuji Rock Festival and Yokohama Reggae Sai, it captured the hearts of many reggae fans.
With lyrics that call for human rights, the liberation of peoples, and world peace, its message resonates even today.
It’s a track that encourages those searching for their own path or struggling with problems to keep moving forward.
Hide your tearsPETER MAN24rank/position

A unique interpretation of reggae born from repeated visits to Jamaica.
Drawing on those experiences and fusing them with his Japanese identity, this track is both sophisticated and catchy, unfolding with a distinctly authentic Jamaican vibe.
Its flow and playful lyrics candidly express the full range of emotions.
flowIRIE&IRIE25rank/position

This is the second track by IRE&IRE, released nationwide from Nagasaki in Kyushu.
Breaking nine months of silence since the release of their debut single “Orange,” an unprecedentedly exhilarating uptempo tune that drew a huge response, this much-anticipated release has finally arrived for fans.
Incidentally, the illustration was created by nobugorilla, a manga artist active mainly in the Kanto region.
GiftET-KING26rank/position

ET-KING, a hugely popular group formed in Osaka in 1999.
Rather than a reggae group, they feel more like a pop group that incorporates reggae and hip-hop, but the song I’m introducing today, “Gift,” has strong reggae elements, so I’ve chosen to highlight it.
This track is their sixth single, and despite featuring straightforward lyrics and reggae influences, it won wide popularity with its catchy melody and received the Japan Cable Radio Awards.
It’s the perfect love song to give to someone special!
1/6000000000Kyushuo feat C&K27rank/position

It was the opening theme for the music program Count Down TV and is Kusuo’s major-label debut single.
Blending gentle vocals with lyrics that realize the presence of a cherished person and vow to walk together forever as a pair, it’s a warm love song.
Life Goes Ondōraku28rank/position

While frequenting the local dance halls, they resolved to sing and began performing; before long, they rapidly rose to prominence, scored hits, and their name spread nationwide.
This song is a cheer anthem for those who keep chasing their dreams.
It carries a powerful message: you’re the leading role in your own life, aren’t you?
