SHANK Popular Songs Ranking [2026]

A three-piece rock band formed in Nagasaki in 2004.

The origin of the band’s name comes from when they initially played ska-punk and called themselves “SKANK” (SKA + PUNK), but drummer Yuki Ikemoto misread it as “SHANK,” and the name stuck.

Here’s a ranking of some of their most emotional and popular songs!

A track included on the 2013 album “Baitfish Attitude.” The bass-vocalist Shohei Ihara’s singing voice is striking, isn’t it? Many fans are likely captivated by his somewhat sultry tone.

This track, notable for its metallic riff, is included on the 2015 mini-album “SHANK OF THE MORNING.” It’s aggressive and cool from start to finish.

The two bars right before the guitar solo are especially a must-hear!

Among SHANK’s songs, this is a hidden gem and a fan favorite.

It’s a relaxed ballad, and even though all the lyrics are in English, you can still feel something burning and powerful coming through.

The actual meaning of the lyrics is both bittersweet and passionate, so be sure to look it up.

Since the title fit so well, I thought it might actually work out, and the band and synth matched nicely—it felt good.

I figured that after steady refinement, it would become that original sound.

The vocals were also strong and sounded good.

An exhilarating punk rock sound has descended! They’re doing a great job as a three-piece—that’s the impression I get.

Their signature sound, brimming with the potential to make you think “Don’t underestimate the Japanese,” really shines.

It’s a track that makes you excited for what’s next.

I definitely want to catch them live.

Prayer’s handSHANK16rank/position

The album “From tiny square room” features slow to mid-tempo tracks, so there isn’t much of a sense of speed, but that makes the solid, weighty instrumentation stand out and really highlights the vocalist’s beautiful voice.

It’s the kind of song that might make you tear up if you hear it at a festival.

This track, the second on the album ‘Tiny Square Room,’ is packed with sharp hits and is simply awesome! It’s guaranteed to get us pumped when we play it ourselves.

If you’re looking for a song that will fire up your live show, this is it!

S.T.SSHANK18rank/position

It’s a refreshing, up-tempo rock number featured as the third track on the 1st album, “Loving Our Small Days.” It’s a song that feels great to listen to and is sure to get the crowd going at live shows—highly recommended.

Baitfish AttitudeSHANK19rank/position

I feel like this song, the album’s title track, carries some kind of central image.

It’s not something you can say about all punk rock, but this band seems to have a lot of really powerful songs packed into short lengths.

Punk rock is the best on guitar.

Brandnew SongSHANK20rank/position

A punkish track that’s very SHANK, included as the sixth song on their 3rd album “BAiTFiSH Attitude.” It’s a fast-tempo, dynamic number that makes you want to mosh and dive at a live show.
